Well, if we count webcomics, I used to read those all the time in the early 2000s. Many of them were sprite comics, like 8-bit Theater and that Mega Man one. I haven't read any webcomics in over a decade, though. I wonder if people still make 'em. They are still being made, but you don't see many sprite comics these days, and less video game themed ones. In fact, more and more, web comics are just comics with a serious story, gag ones seem to be less prevalent, hell, the popular ones are the same old ones like XKCD, Saturday Morning Breakfast Cereal and Cyanide And Hapiness. Compare that to web comics like: Girl Genius- An adventure steampunk in a world with mad science, in that the world is ruled by mad scientists. Next Town Over- Magical wild west series following the adventures of an undead woman looking for a fire mage, not something you normally see with cowboys and saloons aroud. Digger- Pratically the closest thing in the world to a Terry Pratchett story revolving around a wombat. Cucumber Quest- Lighthearted fantasy comic with great art about a boy going on a quest to save the world, not recommended for people that don't like cute. Ava's Demon- Fantasy serious with really really good art, and a good choice for people who want something more serious than Cucumber Quest. Agents Of The Realm- College girls find themselves becoming magical girls in a slight deconstruction of Sailor Moon and other magical girl series. So yeah, web comics are still being made, a lot of them in fact, just seems like the old style is mostly gone, from old popular webcomics, i really think only Penny Arcade, XKCD and Cyanide and Hapiness are still popular, everything else like VGcats just fell out of popularity.

I wonder what happened to VGcats. I completely forgot that was a thing, which is weird because it used to be everywhere. In any case, either the creator got into trouble, or they just quietly stopped working on the comic. I remember hearing rumors they were a jerk, but I have no idea if that's true. In fact, outside of stuff like Penny Arcade and now VGCats, I don't think I remember the names of any of the webcomics I used to read. Which is weird, because I used to read anything and everything I could find. That included a lot of really awful ones, too, but most were mediocre. Some were really good though, so it's a shame that I can't remember their names!

Now I'm wondering what happened to C.A.D. especially since the ninth anniversary of that miscarriage comic was the other day.

Oh, we talkn' webcomics? Poppy O'Possum's my current favorite. Really fun, expressive art, some gorgeous background work (the setting of the current arc is basically a modern city built into the branches of a giant tree with a castle on top), and some surprisingly well-done action scenes for a comic that updates once a week. Also really appreciate the designs incorporating animal anatomy into their body shapes instead of just sticking animal heads and tails on human bodies.
Gunnerkrigg Court is a really cool one, though I do feel it's best binged due to the emphasis on mystery. I sometimes forget to check for updates and just end up reading through a bunch of new pages at once. It has a really neat sci-fi/fantasy setting that's just fascinating on its own.
I'm also really enamored with the 'verse of Crossed Out/I Wish For More Wishes/Spite. They're basically about animal characters ending up in strange, supernatural, and emotionally intense (mis)adventures. They've got a lovely, painted art style to them, too (save for Wishes second chapter, which experimented with a more cartoon-like style before settling back into its current one).

VGCats just fell behind because the author stopped updating regularly. He does like a handful of pages a year.

I keep up with Penny Arcade and Camp Weedonwancha. I've been keeping up with Prequel: Making a Cat Cry Adventures but it's been so long since the last update that I think it's dead.
I used to read Something Positive religiously but I lost internet access for a while and when I got it back I was so far behind that I just couldn't bring myself to catch up.

Camp Weedonwancha is the most unfunny thing I've ever read, and I used to read Penny Arcade. Wait, scratch that. I was confusing it with The Trenches. The Trenches is shit, and because of that, I never gave Camp Weedonwancha a shot.

It's cute. Shush.
-ed: Oh yea, I couldn't get into the trenches either. It's not the *worst* thing I've read but it couldn't hold my interest.

The only webcomic I'm reading regularly right now is Kill Six Billion Demons. Also, I need to catch up on The Order Of The Stick because it's already two years since the last time I read it.

Gabe and Tycho are smug, self-righteous assholes of the highest order. Their sycophants might be worse, though.

Fuck, it just reminds me i stopped caring about gaming webcomics years ago, i have read one or two strips on other sites and forums when people posted it, but it's been a long time since i actually went on a site to read Penny Arcade and other webcomics like that. Not that i am much better, while i do read webcomics with a story like Digger and When The Darkness Presses(a complete comic btw) i still read silly webcomics like SMBC: It's just that the silly webcomics i read stopped being about gaming...i don't even know why i stopped reading those, it just happened.

Oh yea. I like SMBC and Cyanide and Happiness and XKCD but I don't really keep up with them every day. I loved Perry Bible Fellowship but it hardly ever updates anymore.
