Gabe and Tycho are smug, self-righteous assholes of the highest order. Their sycophants might be worse, though. Are you referring to something specific? Outside of occasionally reading their news posts, I don't know much about them. There are way too many instances to go into it all. They've stated on several occasions that they were bullied in their youth, so they thought nothing of getting the opportunity to bully others in turn. That really defines their entire approach to life.

The most egregious example is the dickwolfes kerfuffle but mostly, they act like bitter old men who want kids to get off their damn lawn.

Gabe has had wonderful things to say about transsexuals, too.

Well, if we count webcomics, I used to read those all the time in the early 2000s. Many of them were sprite comics, like 8-bit Theater and that Mega Man one. I haven't read any webcomics in over a decade, though. I wonder if people still make 'em. People still make webcomics but I wonder how many of the gaming themed ones are still going, though I know Penny Arcade is. I wonder what happened to VGcats. There are thousands of webcomics out there...a few of them become well known, the majority of them live on in obscurity or with a very niche audience. I've tended not to read gaming webcomics since a lot of them still rely on snarky geek humor, which, even though I'm a nerd, has never really appealed to me. I'm also not a big fan of static talking head comics from a visual standpoint, which make up a lot of the webcomics world.

Probably the best gaming webcomic ever made is the one where it's revealed that Gabe came up with the idea for BMX XXX by answering an Acclaim customer survey question of "what's your idea for the ultimate game?" and his response is "ride a bike around." *thinks about it* "Look at some titties." It's such a simple but perfect parody of that game and the kind of idiot it was made for. Gabe has had wonderful things to say about transsexuals, too. What specifically if you don't mind my asking?

What specifically if you don't mind my asking? This is the main incident I was thinking of, but he's said it multiple times.

That's disappointing but that was also years ago, I think it's possible he's come around since then. At the end of the day no one's perfect, I still have a lot of respect for PA for trying to rehabilitate gamers' image during the Jack Thompson "murder simulator" days with stuff like the Child's Play charity and though I don't religiously follow the web comic these days I've been aware of it since long before I even had internet access due to them being published in Official US Playstation Magazine back in the day and have always thought it was a solid, pretty funny comic (a lot better than say CAD) I don't really agree with this stance some people have nowadays of holding people to perfectionist standards, though obviously this is all just my personal view of the matter and I'm not saying anyone is wrong if they're not a fan.

It's not about expecting people to be "perfect". It's about these guys showing zero sign of remorse, and, when challenged on their bigoted beliefs or bullying, actually DOUBLING DOWN on their behavior.

Seeing how he caricatured the Motherboard EiC as being cartoonishly queer-coded last year, I'm willing to bet that he didn't actually learn from that incident.

I just plain thought they're comics stopped being funny. Even before they started their crusade to be offensive.
Not sure why but I usually just lose interest in gaming/geek humor comics. Not sure what it is but no matter how much I enjoy one I'll just ditch it eventually, guess I want more a a running plot than just one off gags, like the main two that I follow right now are Darth and Droids and Prequel (that is waiting for a damn update that is). Though I still check on Awkward Zombie since I have nostalgia for that artists work and Three Panel Soul which I just get since one of the characters feels like another me.
Maybe its just the place I was in at the time but I swear there were gaming webcomics all over the damn place in the early '00. Whether it was schlocky sprite comics or handrawn stuff based on Megaman just seemed like you couldn't turn without finding something. Nowadays you have to hunt for it seems like.

Reading through the past few posts, while I think they were entitled to defend their decision for the dickwolves joke as it seems it wasn't intended to mock rape in general, making merchandise out of it is absolutely a shitty way to double down on it.
