The portable Toshinden is good
and of course the Mega Man games which are mind numbingly hard
dumb as it sounds, I really liked duck tales too.

Well I aint afraid to say it- Tetris. Also I prefer the GB Elevator Action to the NES and original arcade version... man I can feel the smite coming for that one...

Kirby's Block Ball is fun but hard to get all of the star rod pieces. Ninja Gaiden Shadow is surprisingly awesome since it is actually an original game rather than a port like the other one.

That has not been mentioned? And no GBC games? Kirby Pinball, Gameboy Wars, Gameboy Wars Turbo, Gameboy Wars 2 and Gameboy Wars 3. Those games, both Dreamlands and Operation C are my favorites for GB that I can remember excluding ports.

Castlevania 1 is not that good, but Belmont's Revenge is one of the best monochrome titles ever! A little short perharps, but nothing else bad about it. Graphics and specially the soundtrack are excellent. (I taped it on a cassette once to listen to it being the nerd that I am)

I really liked duck tales too. You'd be surprised how many people like the black and white Duck Tales (I had the cart too). It was plain fun and very playable.

Gameboy Wars - Successor to Famicom Wars and predecessor to Advance Wars. I've never played them though.
I'll echo Duck Tales. Kid Dracula too. I'll have to dig through my pile o' stuff to see if there's anything else. I think my cat pissed on my GB carts because they smell funny. But not like cat piss. It's strange.

Fortified Zone is totally rad. It works sort of like the overhead portion of the NES Blaster Master but with linear l evel progression. Each level is a large maze of screens where you blast bad guys and find better weapons/keys/etc. to progress. Two characters you can switch between whenever you want too, one can carry more but the other can jump over spikes/etc.
