Not really. If you've seen some of the new gameplay footage you can actually tell sony is seriously for serious on this one, giant enemy crab or not

The other thing that bothers me is that the author states that Sony has been performing poorly in its electronic sales. I'd like to see some numbers to back that claim. Their sales are doing just fine. Their main issue right now is PR. Not only does it seem like the PS3 is overpriced and underperforming, but there are blu-ray DRM issues, the whole root kit fiasco, and not to mention that today Sony has recalled pretty much every laptop battery they make, due to the "explosion" problem. It doesn't help the PS3 that for the past half-year the Sony name has been looking worse and worse as a whole. Their sales are still fine though. This is just a bump in the road, and even if the PS3 were to not do as well this time (which is realistic), or even flop horribly (which is probably not gonna happen), Sony is so massive that their company as a whole won't be dented too much by this. The worse that could happen is that SCEA is downsized (and honestly, I've heard rumors that sony is doing some downsizing, but I can't say anything more on that)

They've been laying off tons of workers, mainly former managers and such, who only had the title of consultant while they got their own driver, paid by Sony.

Well look at it this way
1200 30 inch Wide Screen WEGA fore $1200 Or a $700 Slimfit Samsung TV with ALL of WEGA's Features?
TO my knowledge In the TV/DVD player arena Toshiba and Samsung are KILLING Sony.

The playstation threes main features aren't a big screen and a DVD player though. Even though it has those capabilities, it's still a machine you play games on

*shrugs* The main thing is that all three of these companies can completely fail in the console race and still survive as a business. Microsoft is...Microsoft. Sony has its electronics, despite the current problems. Nintendo has...pachinko from what I've heard. Not to mention they can always whore their characters to retro merchandise vendors for easy money. Hell, I'd buy.

The local newspapers were talking about how Sony was going for a big reforming, especially after losing a really big share of the portable media player audience to a newcomer (Apple's iPod), the big losses with expensive ventures such as the CD player that could play any way people would clumsily put the CD in the tray, the actual PSX (not the PSOne), and various other unwise business decisions. This reforming was started by the new president, I forget his name, but he's their first president of western descent.

For all the money nintendo may lose on consoles not selling they make it all back in Handheld sales. what Nintendo has to worry about now is content, The Handhelds have plenty but the Home consoles are suffering.

I loosely quote Hal on this one: "Cell was the key to winning the console wars"
