While technically not word for word (I'd like one if that was possible) on the recent price drop of the PS3 in Japan only. Why won't the US price of PS3 be lowered along with the Japanese price? We started by calculating the price for the US and European territories by looking at what consumers considered the 'magic price points'. In these territories, the prices we announced were very well accepted. We then converted that price to yen without giving consideration to 'magic price points.' The feedback was not supportive, so we lowered the price.
Indeed there seems to be no end to the insanity. blog.wired.com/games/index.blog?entry_id=1561160

The overwhelming majority of people I know in real life are absolutely ignoring the PS3 based almost exclusively on price alone. I don't know if it's the same for you guys, but I don't know a single person interested in buying the PS3 until after many price drops. >.>

"Ken Kutaragi mentioned at his keynote that you'll be able to download Sega Genesis and Turbo-Grafx 16 games on PS3. Can you say anything more about this?
'It's not something we're having ready for day one or anything. It's more like something they're looking into doing. The point is, downloads won't be limited to PlayStation or PS2 games only.'"
...First motion sensors and now downloading TG-16 games? Christ man, do something original!

'Magic price points'? It's a forbidden magic - too expensive for the common man to touch Seriously though, I hope they continue to make wacky comments like this, it'll be hilarious!

If we had an audio quote of him saying 'magic price point' I am sure we could add it to the list

That aren't voices in your head? I keed I keed. Every one I know wants a Wii or has a 360 already. Some people I know aren't even going next Gen and just playing Halo 2 every tuesday from now until Oblivion. The lone ps3 supporter is my cousin...........and he's stoned all the time.

I have issues with Wii but I'm starting to view it as a consolized DS which makes it suddenly.......very sweet.
I'm still distrssed about Wiigon lock and the fact it's $100 more than it should be.
But the system to own now? DS
I don't own one yet but The DS has the best of EVERYTHING
Then again I still love my PSP.
