Noticed this in the third paragraph of the Enyo Arcade article: Generally should be generously.

Speaking of XBLIG: The recently Steam-released Blood and Bacon would be a neat one to cover, too.

I'll have to replay it but are you sure enemies don't really respawn? At times, I returned to the recreation room and found new swarms of robots around. I recall it was a version that already got some updates, so they may have introduced respawn after a few patches. However, it damaged the tension for the opposite reason, as new bots came too frequently.
The ship is far from disorienting after a few runs - I liked how its size is just right, takes about a minute to run from one end to the other on the main deck.
It may have also been worth mentioning that this is the only recent title published by Night Dive Studios to date, its evident inspiration to System Shock (audiologs look just the same as SS2) as the probable reason they decided to pick it up.

It may have also been worth mentioning that this is the only recent title published by Night Dive Studios to date, its evident inspiration to System Shock (audiologs look just the same as SS2) as the probable reason they decided to pick it up. I've beaten it like six or seven times, and have every achievement. Even completed and recorded a run on Iron Man difficulty. The closest to re-spawning, which I might should have mentioned, is if you're caught by a security camera, which spawns a new little hover bot to ruin your day. I got in the habit of always destroying cameras on sight (a single charge shot from your pistol is best; it has to be one shot or you'll set them off), so I'll admit it slipped my mind writing this. The second point, I was referring only to a first time playthrough. I know the ship in and out by now, but when you start you really aren't given much direction, a feature I personally enjoyed quite a bit. Also, this was written in April, when news of the Remaster was scarce, and I had only 500 words to devote to the game itself.

Wow, this sounds and looks like I really might enjoy it a lot. Sadly, it's not on GoG, and the price seems kinda steep for me for something like that. On sale,I'd buy it in a heartbeat..

^ Keep an eye on bundles. I got it on Groupees months ago, so it may reappear there on some other bundle sites in the future.
Cast of the Seven Godsends has released a substantial update yesterday, to the point they call it "Redux". Improvements listed are better animations, better visual effects, a reworked engine that allows for tighter controls and better collisions, and a save function that's just the ability to restart from the beginning of the last level reached.

Downwell is great but I stopped playing it because it's too difficult for me and I'm not able to enjoy these games that require a dose of masochism. My Steam copy has 9 hours of gameplay and I only ever reached the third area (underwater zone) a couple times. I will never "git gud", but who cares? To each his own.

Downwell is very addictive (according to Steam I spent 30 hours on it) but also very, very tough and unforgiving, especially the final boss. I managed to complete it a couple of times, for the record.

Science Girls sounds like something I might enjoy, especially as it promises not to overstay its welcome.
Some typos/nitpicks:
"lighting gun" sounds like it perhaps means "lightning gun"
"can us psychology" should be "can use psychology"
"doesn’t fair better" -> "doesn’t fare better"
"If the game wasn't so quickly done, this would be impossible to put up with." -> Meaning is a little fuzzy (though clear from context): "quick to finish" perhaps?
"faults despite and partly because" -> "despite its faults and partly because of them"

Hotline Miami really did help popularize the 80s neon-lit style, didn't it? This Nighthaw-X shmup seems like something I'd like for some brief gaming sessions, also the BGM sound very cool.
I have no idea on who invented the neon grid (TRON, maybe?) but you have to take a look to what is probably the most 80s intro ever, by Bandai:
(I love moai too, so I may be biased towards it)

www.hardcoregaming101.net/ghost-1-0/As Franfistro's metroidvania UnEpic was quite well received, I thought that his next effort Ghost 1.0 could receive the same acclaim. Unfortunately it seems that not many people cared, shame since I find it to be a quite good title albeit a little rough around the edges in some parts. I thought that cyberpunk stories were still popular?
