Also why is he called Rayman anyway? I've always thought the reason has something to do with rays of sunlight like he is powered by it some way.

And so a game that started its development as an MLP fangame, finally launches its story mode and leaves Early Access.

If I remember right from the article on HG101 this is one of the worst rpgs to ever be released for the Famicom. Not sure why anyone would want to play this. I mean, it is legendary in its awfulness. If it really is a worldwide release with an English version, I'd definitely snatch it up just out of curiosity.

I watched a speed run at the last agdq....
It's awful.
In the final dungeon theres a floor where they forgot to put in random battle tiles.
And in the next floor they remembered to put in the random battle tiles but forgot to add the collision for the walls.

Streets of Rage 4 released this week, and I decided to pick it up. Wasn't planning on getting at launch, but I heard good things about it and I was in the mood for a beat 'em up. I gotta say, I'm really impressed so far. I'm currently struggling to make it through stage 6 (this game is harder than the Genesis games), but it has save files and unlimited continues. This time, the continues set you back to the beginning of a stage. Since the stages are quite hard, this makes getting better at them very rewarding I think. Probably my favorite addition/change I've seen in the game yet. I watched a speed run at the last agdq.... It's awful. In the final dungeon theres a floor where they forgot to put in random battle tiles. And in the next floor they remembered to put in the random battle tiles but forgot to add the collision for the walls. Oh my god I have to watch that, that sounds amazing. Can't wait for Super Monkey Daibouken and Atlantis no Nazo to be ported to Switch next.

I beat Disaster Report 4 Plus: Summer Memories as well as the Epilogue DLC, which was free for 2 weeks.
I have mixed feelings about it, but I am sure that I enjoyed it. The game has some weird issues and the technical performance depends on the location, with the exception of the epilogue dlc. the Epilogue was really smooth.
The game surely has a ps2 mindset regarding its flow and depiction of normal human movement, which was cute to me. The game really shows the results of an earthquake, which was an interesting subject to me. Every NPC had an unique line and you can kinda understand their dilemma. It is also criticizing issues with law and the treatment of the people during an earthquake and at the aftermath. I really adored that this game didn't have a sidequest checkpoint. It helped the game to make it more natural with the "insert your personality" in the character. Then you have the main story that felt unsuitable? This is especially striking in both "last sections". There was one thing that I didn't like. You are forced to have certains roles in the story and you cannot solve it in your "own way", which felt like a deceit, due to its philosophy. Disaster Report had always weird comical scenes, but lot of them weren't really natural in this game. It felt like, they fused two games into one. I haven't replayed the epilogue, but I got the impression that lots of questions weren't solved. The gameplay design felt empty. I chose different answers and the moral points didn't do a thing. Maybe, they have a different meaning, but I could not find them. The same thing can be said about eating and drinking. These mechanics never had an impact, which is weird. Certain characters were weird, especially those of the "Romeo & Julia" part. The "Romeo & Julia" part was so unnecessary. The quality of the characters are vastly different. I haven't see that in a modern game for a while. The little scenes are great in this game and its moral about certain stuff was clever at times, but some things felt unfinished and forced or out of place. The game length is 15 - 18 hours, but if you rush throught the main plot, then it can be finished within 10 hours, I suppose.

After 18 years, I finally played through all of Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter. What a unique, uncompromising, interesting little game it is. Especially coming from a franchise so traditional. The world setting and atmosphere are very intriguing, albeit maybe a bit too depressing for the moment. The systems at work are all very intricate and put a very modern spin on certain Roguelike stables. I especially love that after five games they simply gave up trying to balance the dragon transformations and just make them super OP but irrevokably bringing a Game Over nearer. It was a faszinating ride. Even if a bit too hard and complex for my personal preferences. Still a bit saddening the series (more or less) ended here. This is clearly a team's vision fully resolved. It does exactly what it wants and very well. And if it would have been released five to ten years later, I'm sure it would have resonated way more with players.

Robocop in MK is another example of clueless game developers completely missing the point of that character. It's as idiotic as the Iron Giant in the Ready Player One movie.
Speaking of Spielberg, at some point they're gonna put a Schindler's List Ralph Fiennes in there. Or at the very least Malcolm McDowell from A Clockwork Orange - you just know they want to...

It all depends on how they handle his ending. It can still work if his ending is somewhat satirical. As for your second point, they seem to be aiming for a horror/action angle for the guest characters.
