Not huge into fighting games but Bushido Blade was really something. I'd go with that. Do companies still announce games at TGS though?

I love fighting games. Though, I've never actually played Bushido Blade.
I want Tekken 8. I can't wait for that to be announced. Mortal Kombat 12 is also already being rumored.

Keeping the name ”Triangle Strategy” was definitely a….choice.

Octopath Traveler was the same way so I wasn't terribly surprised. I am a little surprised that they didn't come up with a better name since it sounds like a cheap Fire Emblem knock-off.

Bushido Blade is so different to other fighters that the appeal doesn't necessarily cross over. It's more of a sword duel simulator. As per any fighting game it excels in multiplayer, but the single player is enjoyable too, due to its unique combat and the environment being more open than expected.

Bushido Blade is worth a shot, as it tries to replicate real life sword fighting with one-hit kills; compared to Soul Calibur where even the craziest full-brunt ultra combos will still leave your opponent with plenty of life.

There is an indie title being worked that does something pretty similar to that called Hellish Quart. Duels to first blood and European instead of Asian but from what I remember it's going for the same concept.

There's also a 2D game, One Strike. It's pretty fun and only $5. It used to go down to 49¢ fairly often before Nintendo starting limiting normal sale prices to $1.99. For all the talk of Steam sales, it doesn't seem to be on sale there as often.

Good Lord! No! They made a lot of bad licensed games back in the day. I believed they also acquired LJN in the past who also made bad licensed stuff. Are they coming back to make more bad games or will they change and actually attempt to make good games for once. I don't think they could do bad games today as games are so expensive to make.

Krusty's Fun House HD Remix when??
Acclaim's publishing history is spotty at best...but they did publish some big hits like Double Dragon 2 and the Mortal Kombat games. And I personally have a fair amount of nostalgic affection for the licensed crap that was their bread and butter.
I'm not sure what the revival of the brand entails since they were just a publishing house. It's not like they can release a collection of their most notable games as that would be a licensing nightmare.

They started out publishing only, but they did eventually expand into development in the second half of the 90s. That being said, the rights to everything spread out all over the place when they went out of business. From a cursory look at their released games, Extreme-G is the only full series they would have owned outright. Then there's some one-offs like Re-volt and Forsaken, but not that many. A few like Turok and Shadow Man which NIghtdive rereleased were based on comics from a publisher Acclaim bought. However, they became independent again so the licensing for whatever else they had is probably not going to be worth figuring out. I don't think anyone is clamoring for a return of Armorines, but I would have figured the same for Shadow Man.

Throwback owns a lot of the other titles, including Extreme G. I'm not expecting much from Acclaim without some serious licensing and IP purchase attempts.

Fake news? I can't see any reports of this from other sites and now the tweet has been deleted.
