And the remake's made by M2, which is a plus.

Those were pretty much the highlight, yes. I skipped the Indie bit, so perhaps I missed something. The newest Atelier game looks pretty good too. I do wonder why the Direct was brought forward. I would have thought Nintendo would have one last push for their own titles for the last quarter of the calendar year, but I guess it makes some sense if there were no new announcements. Because this Direct was a Partner Showcase. They may be saving stuff for a regular Direct. The regular September Direct would be in four weeks time since it always precedes the Tokyo Game Show. The indies presentation for Summer is standard. The third party announcements that would usually be presented in September have no doubt been added to this one in lieu of a standard Direct, otherwise they would have simply waited for the usual date. The partner direct format is a deviation from Nintendo's usual template that has only arisen when they themselves have less software to discuss. For example, there was a partner direct in place of the standard format this past February. A Switch successor announcement in September, though? This does create space for that possibility.

Anybody know anything about the legend of heroes gagharv trilogy release on mobile and PC? It looks free to play but I'd love to play these games properly but if they've been turned into gacha then I'm bowing out: legendofheroes-fow.com/EN/news/devnote

Yeah that mobile Gagharv game looks sad. Shame the trilogy doesn't get a proper localization or remake.
Late to the party here but some nice JRPG announcements in the Nintendo Direct. New Atelier (action based maybe?), Trails in the Sky Remake, Suikoden Remasters finally get a release date, Rune Factory info, and Tales remasters. I also missed that Castlevania collection released that day. Nice stealth release for a very reasonable price.

Only thing bugging me about the new CV collection is there is no single screen option for the DS games. Sure you can have the map visible all the time but it's so small I can barely make them out. Would have preferred the old hit select to bring it up deal.

If Konami is thinking of more Castlevania collections to release in the future I can of two ideas. First one could have Rondo of Blood, Symphony of the Night and the remake of Rondo of Blood from the PSP. Second collection could involve the 3d games. The two on Nintendo 64, Lament of Innocence and Curse of Darkness. Also if Konami likes to put something extra for the collections they could put Castlevania Adventure Rebirth from the Wii.

I wonder how they handle Sisters Mode in Portrait of Ruin. I've read that you can use the right stick to draw the seals in DoS (or use buttons), but I was hoping that they'd give the controls a rethink.

I believe it's the same, all with the right stick which doesn't sound too pleasant. But can't say I've ever been wanting to try that mode anyways lol. Though I should sometime, wish there was a cheat to unlock those immediately so I could dive into those.
Maybe I'll just give those a shot on 3Ds for my little october project.

Finally picked up Aiyuden Chronicles: Hundred Heroes so I’ll be trying that out soon. This game seems to have suffered from the same fate a lot of crowdfunded games have. Initial excitement, long development, issues on release, and failing to meet peoples way too high expectations. I'll probably wait a year or two and play it when all the DLC is out. It looks like decent fun though.

I found out today that Gamestop is having some of their stores to start selling retro games. I understand they did this once back in 2011 I think but stopped for some reason. Not sure if this will work out in the end.
