You guys are doing an excelent and impressive job on this. Some of these games look pretty fascinating, sad that most of those are japanese and no translation at hand.

This one is from Surprise Attack This one is from Scooter Shooter This one is from Magic Sword  This one is from Black Tiger (skip to 28:05) OK so somewhat bad news. For the last week or so, I've been getting the majority of these identifications by reading all the articles on this site, as I was pretty confident that this is where he was getting a ton of his pics from. As you can see, I'm most likely right. However, I have now finished looking at every article on the site. But this still leaves a bunch of pictures to get. I'll still be keeping a look out and browsing Mobygames and Tumblr for stuff, but there won't be as frequent spotting of old screenshots as in the last week. So I'll be really needing other people on this site's help from now on, and recommendations on other places to look for stuff. Also I'm not perfect (well, that's debatable) so I may have missed something on this site that was used, so don't be afraid to have a look for yourself. |

srsly tho how did you find that PC 9801 one? That's crazy man. I think the ones you found are way more harder than the PC98 ones! I frequently visit Japanese retro computer sites, so I often come across these pictures. For anyone that wants to help out, the guy pretty much grabbed most of the PC98 screens from these sites (very much NSFW due to nature of these games) : Warning NSFW

As well as Mobygames and Giantbomb. As always, awesome job with these. And I can finally take down that NSFW one! Phew. I'll definitely have a browse of these. I even asked FMtownsMarty to have a look, which he said he would, but I think he forgot.  I've also hit a bit of a jackpot. Having found this website which this comic book looking picture came from, I found at the bottom of the page a collection of sprites from Apple 2 games. And boy did he get a lot from there. This, this and this one all came from Dragon Wars for Apple II, and this came from Might and Magic II for Apple II again. This one and this one came from either Dragon Wars, Might and Magic II or King's Bounty (Apple II versions), probably Dragon Wars. This one and this one are from this weird game I think might be called Jeu CCB.  This one is from what I think is a hack of Wizardy IV for Apple II |

That second to last one has got to be R-Type 3, likely from the initial take-off sequence in the game's introduction.

Did a search based on your comment, turns out it's from the ending sequence to Super R-Type, not R-Type III, but thanks for recognising it was R-Type, wouldn't have found it otherwise. 54:40 in the video. Nice find. Don't suppose you can put the images that have constant flashing as links instead? My eyes hurt >_< [/a][/quote] Nice finds on the Japanese PC and in paticular a great find for the Reagan one. I have deleted the Reagan one now, and in future will upload images here in jpeg/png form instead of gif if they are too flashy. |
