Wile Wars was actually my first encounter with the NES MegaMans as I go my NES several years later. Only had the GB parts til then I still curse the day when I borrowed it with few other games and never saw them again >_> Haven't played for a long time though, so I can't remember the actual gameplay difference, but I always liked the soundtrack and it's instrumentation. Especially this one

Just be slightly wary with Google Image search though, since he has done... certain art with Mega Man works... Out of morbid curiosity, tell me more.

NSFW imagery of Roll, Tron Bonne from Mega Man Legends, and others. I recall finding his website and finding... lots of art of young girls and stuff in his gallery. He has since cleaned up his site but the net still has a minefield of the removed art. Though some of his official Capcom art can be suggestive enough. His pixiv account is at least safe/semi-safe. I believe the main artist for Mega Man Zero has a ton of doujins out there, as well, Mega Man or otherwise. To be fair, this does happen a lot with artists; it mostly depends how open they are about it. The Excel Saga anime even jokes about the fact that the origin of the characters came from a sentai 18+ doujin the creator made.

Someone on Ask.me inquired about the source for the cancelled Game Boy color port of Mega Man V, do you know where that was referenced?

Mega Man Knowledge Base, though it seems they don't find the source credible enough a citation now... In fact a lot of there links on the Mega Man V page are down/missing.

Argh, I'm sure Nintendo Power listed it in their Coming Soon section, but I can't find my old issues.

To be honest, I don't know how many 3rd Party companies made colorized versions of their original GB titles for the GBC. The only ones I can recall is Harvest Moon GB and the 4 European Konami GB Collections. Nintendo themself only release a handful: Tetris DX, Link's Awakening DX, Wario Land II, G&W Gallery 2, and Balloon Kid on their Nintendo Power service.
To its credit, MM V GB was probably Capcom's best bet for a colored rerelease. It's one of their biggest franchise and a unique portable outing. It probably didn't get too far into development, but who knows?
Speaking of, the 3DS had some "3D-ized" NES Virtual Console games showcased during its first E3, and Mega Man was one of them. I can't tell if it was actual gameplay or just a proof-of-concept video. I guess like the 3D Super Mario Bros. 1, it never went anywhere.

Donkey Kong Land 1 and 3 got colorized versions on GBC, but not 2. Strangely, the GBC version of 3 was Japan-only (the B&W version never made it to Japan).

Sure it's not the GBC Donkey Kong Country? Land 1 was different game from Country while Land 2 and 3 were mostly ports.

Dang, I was under the assumption that DKC GBC was the same game as DKL1 with a different menu. They gave it another port on the GBA only ~3 years later, too.
On the topic of official artists doing porn: Toshihiro Ono, the author of the second Pokemon manga series, which I read as a kid (localized as The Electric Tale of Pikachu) is much more well known under a different name for having done 18+ eromanga and doujins of pretty much every variety under the sun - futanari, yuri, yaoi, you name it.

Funny thing about the Toshihiro Ono stuff. One, wikipedia specifically mentions his doujin psuedonym and links to his work, and two, the Dengeki Pikachu manga in Japan had to be censored from the originals before it went into collected tankoubon books. It's even one of the first images on Google showing the edits done in Japan. Not sure if Ono got in trouble with Nintendo over that like rumors of Ishikawa getting in trouble with Capcom for his erotic art of their characters. ...and to tie more Pokemon with Mega Man, Hitoshi Ariga, whom did the Megamix/Gigamix/etc. manga and 2 of the Robot Designs in MM&Bass (along with being a runner-up winner in Mega Man 8) has designed Pokemon the latest generation, like Pangoro, the X/Y fossil lines, the Honedge line, and others.

Actually I just had a thought. As you guys would be aware of interviews or even the japanese versions. Is Wily said Wile E like the coyote, or Willy? I've always gone with the former, but I've heard people say Willy. The spelling may lead more to that really anyway.

It's like "Wile E." It's because he's evil. What on earth would compel people to call him "Willy"?

I was talking with a guy who'd played MMBN 3 and he kept going on about Willy. I finally stopped him and asked who the hell he was talking about. Since then I've heard it that way every so often. And I swear I saw some rather big name gaming site, or maybe it was EGM... try to claim it was pronounced Willy. I've just been very curious since then.
