Yeah, the article covers both of the PC games. I forget exactly where it'll pop up in the order of posting though.

I'm going to be honest, I really like MM3 for DOS. It features very smooth multi-directional scrolling, which none of the NES MM games could even do (they're purely horizontal, at least the first 3, from what I can recall). Also, the swimming is cool.
I know it's hip to hate on MM3 for DOS, but seriously, it's actually good fun. Large levels, plenty to explore, and very smooth movement.

I know I had at least the first one, back in the day.

Yeah, the article covers both of the PC games. I forget exactly where it'll pop up in the order of posting though. I believe it'll be way at the end, past the remakes/compilations and main Capcom offshoots (Power Fighters, Rockboard, Battle & Chase, etc.) where it gets into the licensed off schlock like the Asian PC games, that Game Gear travesty, and the Wonderswan game. Can't tell if the mobile games are before or after, but past that is all the media stuff (comics, cartoons, etc.), cameos, and the section about the various spin-off games like Legends and Battle Network. Oh, and speaking of the remakes, inbetween the submission and now I found a better mockup of the planned Wily Wars US boxart instead of the magazine scan I made, along with the other covers since I went with the original artwork when I could with the submission: And yes, I am pretty scathing on the DOS games

And yes, I am pretty scathing on the DOS games Did you at least complete a couple of levels from Mega Man 3 (DOS) before coming to this conclusion? What did you think of the multidirectional scrolling? None of the NES games are even capable of doing that. The DOS games are not without merit. I've not read your write up, but as with the Zelda CDi games, the general consensus is so extreme I feel obligated to nominate myself as their defender.

Or it could just be that the consensus is so extreme because they're not very good.

I feel obligated to nominate myself as their defender. Well at least you don't make a fuss about it.

I've beaten both PC MM games and while MM3 was a lot better than the first one, I don't have too fond memories of either of those games. Sure, the levels in MM3 were big but they suffered from being confusing at times, which is typical for many Euro platformers of the era. Moreover, level design of those games didn't feel Mega Man enough for me.

Bingo, coupled with focusing on only 2 major themes (factory or water), along with those wall turrets constantly firing while you're trying to jump on the tiny ledges in the maze areas make it infuruating, though seeing Mega Man swim through a sunken ship was pretty neat.

While the American MM1 box art is absolutely rotten, that European version is pretty bad in its own right. And I don't even know what to say about that Euro MM2 box. At least on American one he's the right color. The German MM2 looks okay (hey MM actually got drawn to look like MM!) but probably only because the other two are so bad.

I actually quite like the European MM1 box art. Sure it's a weird westernization of a anime character for next to no reason, but at least it's a very well drawn one which looks almost exactly like the actual character.
The MM2 one is horrendous though.

Minor nitpick: Kalinka is a robot, so she isn't exactly Dr Cossack's daughter.

Minor nitpick: Kalinka is a robot, so she isn't exactly Dr Cossack's daughter. That's the first I've ever heard someone say that, but all signs and info, official games, manga, etc. has her as flesh and blood daughter. She even ages up come her part in Xover, even if just a little in comparison to her Megamix/Gigamix portrayals. Plus, giving her the same last name as him compared to the other Cossack-built robots seems creepy. Mind you, no mention of Mrs. Cossack is ever given, but I believe you're completely mistaken. But again, there's officially 4 female characters in the classic series and Kalinka's the only human one.

Huh? Doesn't she lend one of her own parts to some other robot in one of the Ariga mangas?
A quick google search suggests she is in fact human. Weird. Was it Roll who did that, then?

Are you sure the quick boomerang doesn’t use weapon energy when missed? I could have sworn it does, just very little.
