Oh yeah, Binary Land! I remembered something about it when collecting games for the article, but when I checked it was Penguins, so I disqualified it, not thinking to double check the computer versions. It's a really early game, too.
Also gonna have to take a look at Sofia. The others we either already have (Phantis, Becky, Turbo Girl) or are licensed games, which we excluded from this list.

Hi, I noticed that the list is currently missing Elidon for C64 (1985), in which you play as a fairy who flies around a garden, collecting flowers while avoiding enemies. www.lemon64.com/games/details.php?ID=816

Clarice can be seen in the arcade version of City Connection (released outside Japan as Cruisin', ntbcw the Midway arcade series).

Hello! I'm still extremely impressed by this article. I have two suggestions: SylvianaStar Virgin (although it seems to be based on a movie (YouTube link), so that might disqualify it) EDIT: Great, only my second post here, and I already derp by missing that Sylviana was already mentioned.

Was going to bump this topic to mention Sofia, but then saw that someone else already mentioned that game (and I even commented on it!). ...But figured I'd bump this topic anyway, as I've now played through Sofia, and the game is really cool! If you guys need any info on it for this article, let me know, as I've basically 100%ed it, and also read up on the story a little (which... there isn't much of, but it's a perfectly acceptable setup for an '80s Pitfall-style platformer!). Judging by the comments on the one Japanese walkthrough I checked, too, this game apparently turned a few heads back in the day for featuring a female protagonist, as this style of game typically never did beforehand. It's also apparently a Japanese meme! Videos for this game are invariably tagged with "No... It's Sofia!", because I guess the meme is that someone will ask, "Is this Pitfall?", and someone else will say, "No... It's Sofia!" (The game was not MSX-exclusive, BTW: it apparently debuted on the Sharp X-1 before being ported to MSX.) -Tom

Oh, wow, did Fray go unnoticed? That's a really good call! Though... did it make the '80s, or was that a 1990 game?

Fray barely missed the cut-off at 1990.
Other than the sports games, all of the ones mentioned are in the article already.

Although Mach Rider looks like a guy like Samus Aran did when she was new, the VS. Mach Rider arcade proves it's a heroine in a Mad Max-style setting, due to Australia being popular in Japan. Here are her suit and no suit looks:

Here are her suit and no suit looks: Is that really the same person? Haha, the body types don't match at all. The suit (which looks like it's made out of soft fabric) shows crazy abs while the sci-fi bikini look has none, the waist is larger, the shoulder broader... the only explanation is that this is actually a body suit with hard parts and lots of stuffing, or that she's wearing some kind of body armor underneath it.

This part of Mach Rider still sparks debate even today among those who played it, which is surprising from a game likely based on one of Nintendo's toy endeavors...
