First hating on Mega Man Zero 2, then on Mega Man 3, and now on Hokuto No Ken. COME ON YOU GUYS. If it helps, that's probably all me on those last two.

Was it you who ranked Yoshi's Island so low as well?

I do get kinda confused how its a running joke to dump on UN Squadron when it was discussed you all seemed to like it pretty well, heh. Unless I'm remembering wrong.
Don't agree on MMZ2 and Yoshi's Island but honestly I don't care much about the list. I just enjoy listening to you guys discuss stuff. (Particularly fond of Xerxes's non threats and statements.) keep up the great works guys.

Sorry about dumping such bad games on you guys, but I find it to be more interesting to hear thoughts on these than just praise of great games. I do have a soft spot for Last Battle though, it is not a good game at all. But it was the first Genesis game I played way back then and for some still fire it up from time to time.

Well UN Squadron was the very first game they ranked on the show, so it stands to reason that a lot of stuff would be better than it as they went on. It's also a great execution of an existing idea, but it doesn't exactly set the world on fire with what it does. I think it should rank a little higher than where it's at, but that's pretty much what happens with any kind of list.

We were talking last weekend about back during the early days of the podcast, back when Xerxes had to be quieter so he didn't wake the neighbors talking about Techno Cop. I think we all kind of remember the point back when Techno Cop was pretty much our marker for average, where nowadays, I think that mark sits around somewhere at Donkey Kong Country 3. And UN Squadron isn't a bad game, per se, but even with go by early SNES shooters, I'd probably rather play Gradius 3.

That's fair. I have a lot of fondness towards that one (especially its sound track) but I'll agree it isn't the best. Personally my fav for the snes is Space Megaforce.
I should really think of some stuff to suggest. Want to see what I've played that might be interesting to talk about though, gonna think it over for a bit.

HG101's Top 47,858 Games better than US Squadron
(I nominated a game half a month ago or so on Twitter, but it's still not in "Unranked" list - did I do something wrong, or it's just that you don't update it on a regular basis? .з. )

If you say what you nominated, I'll update the list for you.

Thank you! I nominated Painkiller, the original one (PC, 2004, without all the crappy expansions)

Bangai-o! I'm about halfway through it right now. I gotta say the text is so bizarre, interesting that it wasn't lazy translation or localization. I was certain that it was the case, due to it being on a low tier publishers label.

Whoever nominated Jurassic Park for the SNES trolled the hell out of you. Everybody knows the only good JP games are the Sega ones. But that SNES version in particular...peeyeew. The NES game (which is also top down but not the same) is actually better.

I will be that guy. I don't think Jurassic Park on the SNES is a GOOD game, but I also wouldn't call it complete shit, either. You really do need a guide to have any kind of a chance at beating it, but if you have that, it becomes reasonably entertaining.

I enjoy it too. I actually can't stand the Genesis game. The controls are so clunky and I hate the level design. It's so confusing.
If the SNES game dropped the first-person portions it would be a fine game.

I'm a little bit of a fan of flawed experiments. The first person segments of Jurassic Park are what really help it stand out, even if they're so bad. It would be great if modding communities could develop a new segment where they go back and fix the slip ups of older games like this.
