24 is Ambermoon, another fantastic German Amiga RPG. Its english translation is technically incomplete, but it's easy to find and there are patches and workarounds for the one or two game crashing bugs/missing text.
I entered the quiz without looking for answers here beforehand, because I like a good challenge
My suggestion would be to use spoiler tags and/or vague hints for solutions in this thread. That way people who prefer to play by the rules can do so, while it still is possible to debate/guess/exchange information collectively.
Hey Windfisch, happy to see you are having fun solving the "mash-up" example...I like these, but they are SO MUCH work!
I'll build some more of those next year.
Let me dig up the solutions for you, before I post the December Quiz...
Fighting Game Mash-up:
1) Street Fighter 2 2) Mortal Kombat 3) Darkstalkers 4) Samurai Showdown 5) FX Fighter 6) Fatal Fury / King of Fighters 7) World Heroes 8) Elfmania
So, any surprises?
Yeah, the mash-ups are even more fun than the regular ones: They almost look like "real" screenshots - which requires the actual identification of seperate elements at first. I appreciate the effort, you have an eye for detail. So, go for it!
I never would have guessed FX Fighter, although I owned a copy once (I suppose it was not the most memorable game). But Darkstalkers - I should have known that.
Already almost 40 people have not been affected by christmas stress and managed to participate in this round. Great!
Several users have recognised their own requests and guessed them correctly, however ONE participant has not discovered their own game request - that's gonna be embarrassing once the solution comes around!
There are two N64 games (both in the same row) and two SNES titles (they follow right after each other).
Oh, and number 17 is game after a book series by a famous team of authors.
Deadline is Saturday the 31st December... please use this page to participate: www.nerdquiz.de/
A happy new year to all of you! 64 people participated in the last quiz of 2016.
We had a special rule this time - those that guessed their own wish correctly, gain a bonus point if they are under 20 points in total. But those that didn't recognise their own wish... got a one point penalty instead.
The score table is in the end, but first we have the solution as a text, then the images.
1) Banjo Kazooie solution percentage: 74% wished by: Yoshi (+1) other suggestions: Banjo Tooie, Crash Bandicoot, Grim Fandango
2) Castle Crashers solution percentage: 69% wished by: Dr.Semmelknoedel (-) other suggestions: World of Keflings, Psychonauts, Kingdom Rush, Skull Knight
3) Final Fantasy 7 solution percentage: 70% wished by: Red XIII (+1) other suggestions: Spyro the Dragon, Ape Escape
4) Xenoblade solution percentage: 88% wished by: Tingle (+1) other suggestions: Final Fantasy
5) Mario Party solution percentage: 84% wished by: Monty (+1) other suggestions: Mario Kart 64, Super Mario 64, Paper Mario, Mario Golf

If users had equal score, they were ranked by weighted points (less guessed games giving higher value).
Victory goes to Splunge, J.R., Gerhard_S, Barbarian and Tako... you are the Top 5!
Also respect to Deadly Engineer, Waffler, Bumpyroad, DerZocker and konsolero85 - together you are the Top 10.

Thanks to all for participating - this season is over, but in a month or two the quiz series will continue!

the year is over, and I'd like to announce some overall winners! It's a bit less interesting for HCG 101, as you have only participated for two rounds so far... but you get a final score post regardless.
So, this quiz series runs parallel in over ten different communities, only fitting we got a big olympia-style comparison at the end of a year (one year = 10 quizzes).
If you score the first, second or third place in a quiz, your forum gets a corresponding gold, silver, or bronze medal. To be more accessible, this game also features an "iron" medal if you achieve 4th, 5th or 6th place, and a "wood" medal if you manage 7th, 8th, 9th or 10th place.
Each medal scores points as follows: gold - 5 silver - 4 bronze - 3 iron - 2 wood - 1
This is how all communities did in 2016 (excuse the german):
As you can see, hardcore gaming 101 (HCG) has gotten "wood" three times... even though you ony participated in two riddles! That even got you in the top 10:
I wonder how you'll do when participating for the entire next season?
- - - - - - - - -
And apart of the more top level medal score, who made the actual points? This award goes to Dream, have a look at the overall combined table of all participants so far:
Ta-daaa, the image quiz continues into the year 2017 - and we start with the fake screenshots, made from eight games each, that gained such great feedback last year.
There are four pictures in total, and every three days I will upload the next one. All are from the low-res games of the 80s and 90s, and each is a completely different genre... hopefully everyone will find one he likes!
1. Chupa-Chups can't be from anything other than ZOOL. 2. The flowers and checkerboard dirt are very Sonic. Specifically, the 8-bit version. 3. Some variety of Wonder Boy wielding that sword. Couldn't tell you which port, but that's most likely from Monster Land. 4. The Mario mushroom is pretty obvious...but I love how you mixed in the cloud-bushes, too. 5. Whispy Woods. Kirby represent, y'all. 6. The platforms and gems...The Great Giana Sisters? 7. I'm tempted to guess that the status bar is from some Capcom Disney game but can't pinpoint which one. 8. The arm-bot in the air must be from either Mega Man or something very Mega Man-esque. Cocoron, maybe? 9. And I can't identify the ducks/puzzle pieces(?) in the right, next to Whispy...
