Yep, else that game is pretty nice. Kinda a bit like a reskinned Bayonetta, but where's the difference to XYZ-Musou ;D I'm just a bit pissed that I bought the game the month before it was free on PS+ T_T
Also Gundam Federation VS Zeon and AEUG VS TITANS on PS2 are two of my favourite action games for that system. Great, detailed MS models, many play modes, original music (The Jaburo mission with Ai Senshi playing is just plain awesome) It really captures the atmosphere of the series.
For Saturn I'd recommend the Blue Destiny games. Especially if you play them with a Twinstick, it really makes you feel like you're rocking that GM. Too bad only the second and third game support it.

I've played a bit of Ghen War for the Saturn an ok FPS mech game. It has cheesy FMV cut scenes that wouldn't feel out of place on a Sega CD. Then there's Tech Romancer For the dreamcast a fun fighter with fairly simple move sets. Kind of like a 3D king of the monsters.

I'll have to store this thread for later. You'll see why soon... *yoink* All the ones I can think of are in the masterlist, unfortunately. The only one that sort-of-kind-of counts is the Doom/Heretic/Hexen/Strife mod, NecroDoom (which is an absolute blast btw,) but it's a modification rather than a full-blown game...

There are an lot of Gundam games too, Dynasty Warriors Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam VS series, Gundam Online, Gundam fighting games, SD Gundam G Generation(basically Super Robot Wars that focuses only and only on Gundam with mechas from a lot of series, expanded universe and even original ones and an series where you can easily trade pilots from all series into every mecha, so having Char Aznable in GOD Gundam is pretty easy)and a lot of other ones.
It's amazing how many Gundam games there are out there, i am partial to the SD Gundam G Generation ones, but mostly because i like the almost SRW style they have.

You're welcome! RE: Gundam, Transformers and Robotech: There are so many games based on these franchises and I'm not familiar enough with them to sort them out, so I just clumped them together in the masterlist. Feel free to help. Anyone familiar with Getter Robo Daikessen? I've heard it's similar to SRW, except all Getter and way harder.

The Guardian Legend (?) Iron Blood (a fun Korean DOS action game) Kirby: Planet Robobot Star Fox Zero, and the unreleased SF2 Tatsunoko vs. Capcom but only 2 fighters (Gold Lightan and the mech from Lost Planet) Xenoblade Chronicles X Iron Blood looks pretty cool, never heard of that one. Not too sure if I should count the others, maybe if I'll add another category for games featuring mechs as a sort of side dish.

Nobody mentions Steambot Chronicles?
It was a sandbox RPG, very charming presentation. Plenty of diversions and freedom. Concepts that other developers dared to include, like obeying traffic laws in towns.
Unfortunately only a PSP spinoff survived. A PS3 sequel gotten cancelled, Irem suffering problems during this era.

Man, every time someone brings that up I think that it looks really cool and I should get it, then immeaditely forget about it. Wasn't there also some similar game where you piloted a wooden robot?

If 2D shooters count, you could probably add to the list 70s Robot Anime: Geppy-X and Supercharged Robot Vulkaiser. As you may understand from the titles, they're both horizontal shmups pretending to be episodes of an old combining mecha anime series. There were some licensed giant robot/mecha shooters as well.

Closest looking mech to Steambot Chronicles would be Dark Cloud 2's Ridepod (named Steve!). It's more of a party member than a whole mech game.
