Announced today at BitSummit. To be released May 24th. By Inti Creates. If you are a Bloodstained Ritual of the Night backer (over $28), you'll get this for free. If not, then it will cost $9.99. Inspired by Castlevania 3, four playable characters, stage based but there will be different paths to take in a stage ala Rondo of Blood, multiple endings. They are calling it a "mini game", so don't expect a long game like Castlevania 3. But they will probably make longer sequels if the Gunvolt series is of any indication. If you are a backer, the deadline to select the console which you want the game for is May 18th! If you don't select a console, then you'll get it for Steam only. So if you never selected it, or never filled a survey they sent, then do it now before the 18th! fulfillment.fangamer.com/kindling/bloodstained/survey_supportPlace your email there and they'll send the survey again. If you already filled it, then the survey link they send will send you to your Backer Management page where you can see the survey so you can make changes to your answers if you want.

This sounds like a cool little bonus. It's always nice to see new retro-style games :3

I’m especially happy that this looks and sounds like an (almost) authentic 8-bit game. There are quite a few ”retro 8-bit” games that uses technology and graphical effects that wouldn’t even have been possible on a 16-bit console. Oh how memory and nostalgia betrays people...
Anyway, this game excites me! I wonder if the swapping of characters have an actual gameplay purpose, or if it’s more for variation in combat? Like, we can see not-Alucard turn into a bat to fly over a pit, which suggests it will be necessary to use different characters in different situations. Like, more Little Samson than Dracula’s Curse even.

Yes, the different characters will be essential if you want to find the alternative paths that lead to other stages (like in Rondo of Blood).

I am SO on board for this. It's been so long that I totally forgot this was even one of the stretch goals for the Kickstarter campaign, but I'm sure as hell not going to complain.

This honestly looks better than the 'real' Bloodstained IMO.

Oh, now I'm definitely signing up and getting Bloodstained! Fanfuckin'tastic.
Especially love how character swapping is seamless.

Just look at all the stairs.
I don’t know why that makes me so happy.

Looks good but I'm more interested in the one that's more up to date. Just hoping that it won't be cancelled for the PS Vita.

This promises to be Shovel Knight or Joymasher level of neo-retro, even though it often looks rather like a 16-bit game with a limited color palette.
