Here's a list of non-video-game licensed properties that have been made into a video game at least 30 times.

Note that some of these pages also list sub-series separately (i.e., SD Gundam, Star Wars: X-Wing), which I have noted where appropriate. I link to the GameFAQs series entry where possible, and the Mobygames one where GameFAQs doesn't have one.

*Ubisoft has outright owned the Tom Clancy name since 2008, making this an edge case.
**Batman is lowballed a bit because GameFAQs groups together some completely different games as the same thing. There's like 8 different Batman Returns game but they're all counted as one here.

Shouldn't John Madden overlap with NFL considering most of the entries were NFL licensed. (as I understand it was only the first few years they didn't have the NFL license, and I think Madden 64 where EA was briefly on the other side of an NFL-exclusivity license )

I think it's debatable whether Digimon should count as a license since it started as an LCD game (like Tamagotchi), I think. I guess by "license" means "something that didn't originate in video games".

Digimon isn't licensed because the virtual pets were made by Bandai and the games were published by Bandai. It's their own IP.

Most NFL games are not Madden games, though.

As probably also the reason Transformers Convoy no Nazo was released on Wii VC, as well as one or more Zoids games. Because Takara Tomy owns the games and IP.

I cannot believe there are more LEGO games than Dragonball ones. Dragonball had at least a ten year head start! They’ve really milked those LEGO properties for all they are worth.

I have seen enough having seen videos of the GBA games. I don't think it's even possible for the developers to have given less of a shit about the IP. When I remember thing like JPEG sprites and the most stock sound effects heard ever, that is bad. Is one of those where they wanted you to collect 400 hotdogs? "When the developers want you to collect 400 hotdogs, you know they don't care about you." Great quote from the player. And I think there was also softlocking level design ON THE FIRST LEVEL.

According to this, there are at least 50 licensed Mario games (i.e. not published by Nintendo). I think every single Tetris game should count here as well as they are all licensed from the Tetris company or its legal predecessors.

Looking for non-video-game licenses here. The only edge case on the list (for that specific criterion) currently is Digimon, which depends on whether or not you consider digital pets video games.

Anyway, I discovered another one: Peanuts.
