Should I not go ahead of '91? Up to '94 is available. I'd like to do one at a time to keep the discussions/voting for missed games organized, but you can go ahead and make them in advance.

This is cool, though some of the dates seem kinda wacky. I'm guessing they go by Japanese release dates which makes it harder for me as I would normally judge old games in the context of when they came out. Like, I would normally compare Sonic and Super Mario World since they both came out around the same time in North America but here they are in different years.

As I said on GF I'm going by original release dates and mostly original versions of games unless there's a consensus about a port being better, or it's significantly different like Rygar on NES for example - if not you can see the original version as a catch-all for other versions.
This makes it more fair for games like DQ1 and SMB3 which were localized 2+ years later, but if one game was a late 1990 release for example and the other early 1991, they end up in different years. So there are pros and cons.
Edit: I guess I could make these massive generational templates after we've done 1999, if there's interest in that.

I actually have a gaming diary (huge spreadsheet) that goes all the way back to the 80s, with scores and everything. That should make it easy to create lists for each year. What are the tiers supposed to represent? A school grading system? How would they translate into a 1-10 or 1-5 scale?
Also, it would be really helpful to add descriptions to the icons. Some of these images are indecipherable.

I never used such a system so I just translated it to roughly a 6-10 scale with S as ~9-10 for mine (or classic/great/good/decent-lower without numbers).
You can edit the tier tag and number of tiers without logging in, so you can make a 1-10 scale or whatever you want but it makes sense for us to use the same scale.
Tierlists makes the pics tiny but I've made sure that they're all more readable with cropping and added english logos. They're a bit zoomed in on mobile, and on desktop you can zoom with the browser (ctrl & + in chrome for example). 125% has been enough for me.

It's no accident, I've never liked Tetris. You'll see the light one day. Puyo Puyo is great, but it's only great in versus mode. Tetris's great in solo and versus modes. That's why it beats Puyo. Tetris Attack beats both, though.
