Rap Quest - a game based on Vanilla Ice ("Go Ninja, Go Ninja, Go!"):
Baby's Day Out - One of those possibly obnoxious nineties comedies nobody remembers. Did the movie feature a babysitting ghost?

Jetix Puzzle Buzzle on DS and PS2
Based on the TV block/Channel Jetix but it is based on the Logo no games from the block feature at all.
But the game is a Reskin of a Kemco published title a company well know for reskining almost all their games a few times.Though they had nothing to do with this Reskin.
Thing is this game is pretty much the best ganme Blast published which was pretty much the PS2 European version of LJN.

These are getting weirder. I remembered one that at least I find amusing. The long running soap Coronation Street is a British institution so I guess it's no surprise some kind of video game has come from it at some point. But I don't think anybody was prepared for Coronation Street: The Mystery of the Missing Hotpot Recipe. Now considering how frequently Betty's Hotpot was referenced over the years I can't imagine she referenced a recipe which perhaps leaves the whole premise null and void, however there is a whole find the hidden object game based upon it, full of sets and characters from the show (but they seem to just appear as still images). Once you find the object you're looking for there's a puzzle it seems. Edit: Oh Lord! I just had to google what opposition Eastenders had to offer on the video game front. Seems there was a selection of online based games in the mid 00's including this makeover game. Now don't get me wrong, I'm sure we've all been envious of the wardrobe of Pam St Clements iconic character over the years but perhaps we didn't need to dress her ourselves. Now to see whether there's anything going for naffer British soaps. A Brookside game perhaps? Let's find out.

Bonus just because of show weird it is. That is bizarre. So you're a villain trying to fend off giant A-Team heads? Strikes me as more of an Attack on Titan game except with a monstrous Mr. T. Sticking to the soap opera theme of my last post and perhaps I should be embarrassed to have not known about this one previously given my avatar, but there was a Neighbours game on the Speccy also. Given the 1991 release I'm guessing Charlene was nowhere in sight, and the game is a skateboard racing game. There is an interpretation of the shows theme music on the title screen as you'd expect.

'Allo 'Allo! Cartoon Fun! (1993, Amiga) They would license any old rubbish for the Amiga, this game by Alternative Software was based on a popular WWII Sitcom about the French resistance. What makes this unusual is by the time the game came out the series had already finished; it ended in 1992. It was repeated a few times on BBC 1 and also on UK Gold I think. It's also an absolutely awful euro platformer with bad control and unfair difficulty. I couldn't get off the first level when I played it. Dated graphics for the time and nonsensical collectfests.
Edd the Duck! (1990, Amstrad CPC, Amiga, Atari ST, C64) Another awful license. This one was based on a mascot for children's TV. The mascot was a 'tude duck with neon green hair who wore a very 90s sweater. The puppet mascot would accompany a TV presenter on CBBC. CBBC was Children's BBC a series of cartoons and children's TV shows such as Newsround and Blue Peter which was broadcast weekdays from around 3:30pm until 5:15pm the TV presenter would introduce programs and read birthdays and viewer's letters out. As is often the case the mascot became more popular than the presenter. See also: Gordon the Gopher and Roland Rat. I've not played this one, but I understand it is sort of an OK Rainbow Island's clone.
Mr. Blobby (1994, DOS, Amiga) Another mascot which a lot of people seemed to hate. Mr. Blobby or Blobby as he was affectionately known was a man in a pink and yellow spotted suit with big googly eyes. He would basically take pratfalls, knock over tables and throw custard pies in celebrity guests and audience member's faces on a TV show called Noel's House Party. This was a prime time (7pm?) variety show aimed at family audiences it consisted of physical challenge games were audience members could win prizes, celebrity guests who were pranked called Gotcha! (think of Ashton Kutcher's Punk'd only less elaborate) and lots of juvenile comedy sketches. It sounds bad, but it got 10 million+ viewers a week in the 90s. Blobby became the most popular attraction and a celebrity in his own right. He had a Christmas number 1 Christmas in Blobby Land often considered one of the worst singles of all time and tons of merchandise. The game is a platformer in the style of Zool. It's bad, but it's no worse than say Awesome Possum and the other games in this list. Reskin of Super Troll Islands (SNES). To add insult to injury, Blobby, Mrs. Blobby, Mr Blobby's son etc were popular playground insults for fat people, not just children; thankfully people are much more aware of the effects bullying has in the 21st century.

Titus the Fox by, uh, Titus was originally titled "Les Aventures de Moktar" and starred the protagonist of a novelty Euro-house parody song that was a pretty big hit in France at the time. Do you know any other examples of games inspired by random songs?
And by the way, this is the song:

Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch - Make Your Own Music Video Hahhahahhaa, no idea who's pet project it was to make a Sega CD game about making a Mark Wahlberg music video. Same goes for Kris Kross. These two music personalities are so niche... on an already niche system. The sales had to have been so dismal.
Pepsi Man is a great one! Who would have thought they would build again around a Japan-only mascot. Yo-Noid, the short-lived claymation mascot for Domino's Pizza is also a surprise Capcom game. Throw in Cool Spot from 7-Up too.

I like to think we're not suggesting Wahlberg was ever hired for his acting talents. I mean, everyone's given one special thing, right? I don't see his visual appeal myself but obviously somebody did.

Marky Mark (feat. Prince Ital Joe) as a "musician" might've actually been somewhat popular in Europe. The tracks certainly were very "Euro-Dance"-like.
To his credit, I do consider him a black belt-master of facial expressions. So far he's mastered two: Frowning and heavy frowning. Part of me wants to believe that he was cast in Burton's Planet of the Apes specifically to make the (actual) actors in ape-makeup look more believable by comparison.
I don't think I've ever actually seen Boogie Nights as a whole - though I somehow remember scenes from it. Anyway, I'm almost certain that it's not even his own special thing that is shown in the movie.

It's a body double in Boogie Nights; it's a great film all the same.

I remember him saying on a talk show that it was a prosthesis he got to keep, but it disintegrated at some point possibly between the film wrapping and it being released. The movie is a legitimate classic and I rank it up with Quiz Show for surprisingly good dramas about unusual subjects. Everyone knows who PT Anderson is these days, but Boogie Nights is so good and for a second feature no less.
