... erm... I'm feeling a bit daft at the moment, but is there a particular link for me to follow for the channel? Do I need some sort of chatroom software dijjery-doo to access it?

If you use Firefox I recommend ChatZilla. And regardless of what application you end up using the commands for joining are the same: /server irc.psigenix.net /join #hg101 Other helpful IRC stuff: Registering your nick with NickServ: /msg NickServ REGISTER yourpassword youremailChanging the topic (must have operator status): /topic inserttopichereGiving operator status to someone (again, you have to be an op yourself): /mode +o insertnickhereOr if you want to give op status to multiple people: /mode +oo insertnickhere insertanothernickhereThat's all I can think of at the moment...

Heeyyyy. Very nice yearbook-style list of irc channel participators! Very nice details. It took me a sec to spot the HG101 logo in the background, there. Crazy times, man...

Piss. Tried to use mIRC. Completely failed to connect. Deleted. Now looking for alternates. What's recommend for us Firefox freakers? Oh, and thanks to 'schach for putting in Jotaro there. I realized I had Baby Strong Bad for quite a while now, so thought I'd factor in a new av to herald my chat-joining.

There's always the infamous /me command. /mode +h nickname gives halfop status. Also, /nick whateveryouwant changes your nickname to whatever you want.

Okay, so... here's what happened. Downloaded Chatzilla. Got right into it easily enough. Typed "/server irc.psigenix.net" Pressed Enter. ............................................................................................................ ... it is STILL FUCKING FAILING TO CONNECT. This is what it says after waiting for a certain amount of time: "Connection to irc://irc.psigenix.net/ (irc://irc.psigenix.net/) reset. Reconnecting in (# of minutes)" It's currently up to four minutes. I can't get into the server. I gave up. WHAT THE CHRIST.

sotenga: Do you have a firewall or a router in between you and the internet? If so, you should look into your port forwarding settings to open the IRC ports (IIRC 6667 for IRC, 113 for Identd and HELL I CANT FIND DCC)
