So, is anyone else excited for this? Can't believe they are making a Mazinger Z/Transformers crossover, sure, it seems to be only the G1 guys and the first Mazinger series, but still, that is freaking awesome! Not much about the story, only that the Transformers will cross time and space until the 70's and it seems that Koji is still just starting his career as a hero, so it seems they are part of the same universe in the story? Whatever, it's still cool even if i wouldn't have minded seeing Great Mazinger, Grendizer or even Mazinkaiser appear.

I'm perfectly fine with just G1 Transformers. It was the greatest generation. I'll definitely keep an eye out for this release.
Currently been watching The Promised Neverland. I'm quite impressed with it. The 1st episode really sets the series up for momentum. I ended up using the better part of a Sunday, reading through all 122 chapters of the manga, when I should have been unpacking luggage and doing laundry.

Don't know about greatest generation, but i guess they are still the most popular and still serve as the basis for every other gen following them. Anyways, while it's sad that it seems to be about the Transformers meeting Koji near the start of his career, i wonder if this will mean that Megatron and Dr.Hell will team up? Also, if the story doesn't have Boss Borot meeting and facing either Starscream or Megatron then the story becomes awful and pointless by default, because Boss Borot is awesome.

Is it sad that when I saw Mazinger on that poster, I thought he *was* Megatron?
Though I thought Optimus was a Gundam, so... I need new glasses.
That said... problem is, the Japanese side has always had a kind of sub-par handling of Transformers, very often reducing characters to standard anime tropes and conventions and lacking the depth and nuances that made G1 so much fun. The Starscream/Megatron dynamic is something I can't see a Japanese work doing justice to. I mean, I might watch this when it comes out, but I'm not holding my breath... Headmasters wasn't good and that was when G1 was still fresh. Now that G1 is iconic and has all these expectations built around it, I kinda expect something similar to all the revivals of Final Fantasy VII which paint Aeris as a demure saint even though she was nothing like that in the original game, just because that's the mythology that's been built around her.

New covers for the retail releases have been shown: I am guessing that the Autobots and the Mazinger crew will fight each other at the start considering the first cover, much to Megatron's delight, but then you get the eventual team-up against the Decepticons and Dr.Hell. Still looks really cool and part of me is still suprised this crossover exists.

I watched two episodes of a show called something like "Girly Air Force" and it's basically Chobits but dumber and with airplanes.

Those cross over posters look freakin' amazing!
I just saw Mazinger Infinity the other day. I was really, really impressed with it. It's a gorgeous movie, with just enough fan service. And I don't mean sexual fan service either, but cameos and robots.

Not sure if this is the right place to put this in, but here goes:
It was sad to see Toei pandering to SJWs. Not only do the latest Dragon Ball Z movies Blu-Ray have heavy DNR (Digital Noise Reduction), but they also removed all middle fingers.

Those things don't seem all that related.

I've had the "pleasure" to read some pretty bad posts on these boards lately, but I think somehow this takes the cake for being the worst of them.

And I don't mean sexual fan service either, but cameos and robots. Side note, the second poster? It was apparently drawn by Go Nagai himself, which is why it seems to have an art style a bit more similar to older manga, which means he has ended up drawing Transformers in his life! As for the movie, it's...okay? Honestly, the story wasn't that good and it feels like it had a bit too much fan service, i mean, the movie genuinely expects you to already be familiar with Mazinger, in particular the 70's animes to better understand everything, not only that, but it felt like the Mazinger Z VS Mazinger Infinity fight was done when they ran out of budget and it's pratically just Mazinger powering up to deliver a SUPER ULTRA HYPER ROCKET PUNCH! The fight scenes were fun though, just felt like the movie could have been something more, i also think that Mazinger isn't as popular or as well-known nowadays, and they should focus on making something new and good rather than making a sequel for series that ended decades ago. At least animate Shin Mazinger Zero or do another Mazinger series, i mean, Mazin Emperor G was drawn by Go Nagai for a toy as Tetsuya's version of Mazinkaiser, and it's already appeared in video games: A new movie with Mazinkaiser or just Mazin Emperor G seems like something that would appeal a bigger audience than people who watch 70's anime, though i still appreciate that Infinity was made. Also, Go Nagai has revealed that Grendizer is canon to Infinity, but he didn't want Kouji or anyone to mention Duke Fleed and Grendizer so that people wouldn't wonder why he doesn't appear to save the day, meaning that Infinity could get a sequel where we get Mazinger Z, Great Mazinger and Grendizer coming together to fight aliens or some other threat which...i would really damn love to see that!

Watched the remaining two Godzilla movies in the Toei/Netflix CG trilogy. Retrospectively, one can at least say that they did not deliver what was expected. Taking place in a future where Godzilla already won and humanity is at the brink of extinction, and then later going full metaphorical and nihilistic. They are still not particularly good, though, albeit slowly getting better. The first two movies really should have been one, since Planet of the Monsters is a big bore and City at the Edge of Battle also takes over half of the run time to finally get interesting. Planet Eater is finally decent, but still not much more than that.
