Pretend P.N.03 is a shmup that's always in time attack mode. Every "room" is a level you have to try to move forward through as efficiently as possible while destroying everything as efficiently as possible and taking no damage.

Technicaly Mario RPG is just the original and the two Mario & Luigi games. Any other rpgs with Mario are a seperate series. And, as I see it, they are too recognizable for HG101.

Sorry to double post here, but I am considering many entries, though I have NOT committed to any yet. Would anybody be interested in colaberating on these, where necasary, and taking care of screenshots? I am much more likely to get around to a entry if there is interest in colaberation. Colaberation would for almost all of these only involve taking screenshots, which my computer makes more or less impossible for me. AS FAR AS HAVING TO PLAY THROUGH THESE GAMES YOURSELF, NOTE THAT MOST OF THESE ARE NOT LINEAR PLOT BASED GAMES. A FEW PLAYS WOULD BE MORE THAN ENOUGH FOR SCREENSHOTS FOR MOST OF THESE GAMES. There are WAY MORE than I could get around to reasonably that I am considering, so I will just put everything out there to see if people are interested. Game entries I am considering/willing to do/interested in doing:
Yie Ar Kung Fu Samurai Shodown Joy Mech Fight Tenkaichi Bushi Character Soft games SD Hiryuu no Ken Super Chinese Fighter Ossu Karate Bu Ranma 1/2 Chogi Ranbu Hen Dragonball Z Hyper Dimension Gundam Wing Endless Duel Art of Fighting Fatal Fury Ninja Masters World Heroes Shock Troopers Twinkle Tale 2-D Oozumou games (or just SNES/SFC or 8-bit and 16-bit) non Super Dodgeball dodgeball games pre Street Fighter II fighting games (would involve games I have mentioned) Libble Rabble Bullfight Great Swordsman two joystick games by Eugene Jarvis Bandai/Banpresto's Battle series "other" Konami shooters Fire Pro (this is VERY iffy, as they are pretty much all the same game, and there are so many of them) Super Pinball Saturday Night Slam Masters Eggerland Magical Drop Recca SNES/SFC Yuu Yuu Hakusho fighters Weaponlord Assault Suits (would have to be a total colaberation, as I do not have the Saturn and Playstation games) Mini Putt Neo Turf Masters League Bowling NES zapper games Crush series (pinball games) Sweet Home bit Generations Berzerk
That is ALOT, and there are probably others that are not coming to mind, but like I said, I am just putting everything out there.

If you're going to write an article on Eggerland series, I can take care of the screenshots and all necessary graphics for the article.

IF I get around to Eggerland (it's low priority) somebody else will have to take care of Egger Land - Episode 0 - Quest of Lala and Revival! Egger Land. As I have no clue where to find those. I would be interested in a questionably legal download site for those if anybody has a url for something like that. I have every other Eggerland, though. Is anybody here aware of exactly what differences exist between the American and Japanese releases of Lolo 2/Lolo and Lolo 3/Lolo 2? They had slightly different versions of a few puzzles, that I am aware. Would I have to get more specific than that?
Also is there such a thing as too much? I was serious when I said I could do dozens and that I could do these quickly. If I got into it, I could honestly do half a dozen this month alone easily. Of course I will eventualy run out of games to discuss, and that rate would slow way down. If I can steal screenshots from other sites I could work at my own pace and get these finished very quickly. I am in no hurry or anything, I am just saying.
And would I have to play every port of a game? I am NOT buying a console and a game just so I can discuss Art of Fighting, or whatever, at a internet site.

Try finding a few friends with the game you're looking for. It's how I did it to help write up my Crazy Taxi and Punch-Out!! article (I didn't have Crazy Taxi for the GCN, but my friend did and I also had a friend who unfortunately had the PC version of Crazy Taxi and Crazy Taxi 3. I also pleaded with another friend to rent the GCN version of Fight Night Round 2 just so I could play the Super Punch-Out!! game inside). Besides, even if you can't find a person with it, someone has to be selling it (for your example of Art of Fighting, I've seen it go for as cheap as $2 for the Genesis version which isn't steep at all).

And would I have to play every port of a game? I am NOT buying a console and a game just so I can discuss Art of Fighting, or whatever, at a internet site. If you can't, I'll try to fill in the blanks. For Art of Fighting, there should be little blurbs for the Genesis, SNES and PCE CD versions. If you can run the emulators, I can supply any of these, but if not, I'll take care of it. The only problems might come with newer disc-based games, which I may have to track down myself. As long as they're cheap, it shouldn't be a problem. (Getting Berserk for the PS2 might be a pain if you go that route though.) As a quick heads-up, someone is working on a Treasure article, so that'd cross off Gunstar Heroes and Alien Soldier.

Deleted those two.
So somebody (if I can not) has to play every port? Researching differences is not enough?
Taking Art of Fighting as a example (a good example, as it is among the entries I am most likely to do): I could take care of SNES/SFC and Genesis versions of 1 & 2. PCE CD? Not happening. Neo-Geo AES/MVS versions are emulatable for all. 3 was released where? There was AoF Collection, which I do not have. Anything else (for 3 or otherwise)? PS?
Berzerk was released for PS2? Damnit. There was the arcade original, 2600, 5200, Vectrex... Was that it? Frenzy had the arcade game, Colecovision... That was it, right?

I own the PC CD for Art of Fighting so I can do a blurb on that for you.
AoF3 was unfortunately only on the AES/MVS and NeoCD.
It was going to be ported to the Saturn but it never happened. I believe some SNK game or another even has an ad for it on the back of the manual.

Oh, by Berserk, I thought you meant the one based off the Japanese manga, not the old Atari game. Completely different.
First hand experience is much better, but if that's not possible, research will have to do. I know the AoF PS2 port are pretty much straight ports of the MVS versions, with the addition for original or arranged music. I've heard that AoF 3 uses the Neo CD sprites (which were apparently scaled down) rather than the cartridge sprites, but I haven't confirmed.
Actually AoF isn't that big of a series. The original got ports to all three 16-bit home systems. 2 only has a SFC port. 3, as Rasa mentioned, didn't receive any. I've been meaning to grab the PS2 package at some point - I don't care much for the first two games, but it's worth it for the third.

NG CD? Damn. I forgot about that. That will make it way more difficult to do a entry on any game that has been released for that.

The sprites being scaled down in NeoCD ports isn't too uncommon. Usually though if there's cuts it's to the sprite animations instead though. If you had the memory card, both CD games and got really far in AoF2 you could use a trick to start AoF1 with all the upgrades.

Don't worry about the Neo CD versions too much. In like 95% of the cases, the only differences are arranged music, along with load times, and cut animations/sound effects. In the other 5%, it's just cases of sprite scaling or not having arranged music. (Like Metal Slug, unfortunately.)

Might consider not being lazy and drafting an article for either Section Z or the smaller series of Bushido Blade
