So uh, where did Jason X go? He hasn't posted since September. He got tired of the board. It's a shame, I liked his posts a lot and it was good to hear what he thought on the different stuff. That reminds me, I should send him an email sometime soon.

I meant to post in the randomness thread and not the pissed thread but whatever, that sucks. I just noticed he hadn't been around.

I had just been wondering where he was myself.
I know somewhere he is jubilant for the news of Dark Souls II

I'd been wondering, too.

YouTube seems to be incapable of going more than 3-4 months without making a major change to their interface. That would be annoying enough, but the past few changes have made navigating YouTube significantly more of a pain in the ass.

Starcraft II I've been playing against my in-law since last month due to him wanting to play something and not having any interest in anything else. Thing is, he's had the game since it came out; I've only just started a month ago and still don't have the full game. So out of every game I've played against him, he's won every single game (up until today) and I harldy stood a chance. By the time I've figured out what button to press to get what I want, he's already made an army to destroy me.
Today I teamed up with my brother as a 2 on 1 match and just barely managed to win. Still didn't take any pride in it. I was relieved it was finally over. I got so pissed at one point in that match that I was actually thinking about hitting my in-law. I couldn't even fight back because I was too pissed to think.
And I know he's gonna pester me for a match tomorrow... chances are I'll say "sure," get my ass kicked for a couple hours and listen to him talk about what a great match it was. Maybe if I played on my own before, I might even like this game; but now I'm at the point where I don't even wanna hear it. This isn't a game... it's hell.

You know dude, maybe you should just tell him that playing this game just makes you miserable. Maybe say you feel you aren't really offering a level of competition that satisfies you and that you need time to yourself in order to learn the game and then hope he forgets about the game! That or maybe ask him for tips and pointers or something. I'm sure he couldn't be that offended if you said "look I'm really not that into this game" or something you know?

No worries there... after yesterday's slaughter, I'm done. It's really not a bad game, and he has given advice, however it's a pretty complex game, so it's hard to take in so much info so quickly. (Espicially when I'm under constant pressure and don't have time to learn.) Wouldn't have gone on for so long if it wasn't so easy to throw guilt on me; and his choice of games didn't lie in a very very small area.

Oh yaaaay! I've lost my bank card just in time for Christmas! That means no taking advantage of Xmas deals and little hope as it is of receiving the replacement card prior to Christmas. Why?

Gun nuts. Just, gun nuts. Every time they rear their stupid fucking faces with their stupid fucking platitudes (bullshit ones at that) at the least appropriate times I want to smash something. Paranoid fuckers too who never would recognize the REAL problems in our country's state of affairs if it pointed a Wal-Mart-purchased assault weapon up their collective assholes.

I think you (and others) may be interested in this article. Not guaranteeing you'll like it, though, whether you're for or against gun control.

Ironically, here in Texas where you can pretty much buy a shotgun for the hell of it we seem to have a surprising absence of crazy fucks going apeshit with guns in schools (outside of that whole UT Tower thing, but that was ages ago).
That being said, I'm pissed off that there was another school massacre.

I don't think it's fair to say that there's anything remotely resembling gun control in the US, at least at the level of most other industialized nations. What federal legislation exists is far too easy to circumvent, and the sort of gun control that most other countries have is only strong enough at city- or state-levels. Which just means people can quickly cross state lines and get a gun and avoid these restrictions. While I think the article-writer has a very good point to make -- the sort of culture surrounding organizations like the NRA is going to make this very, very difficult to fix* -- his summary and conclusion are intellectually dishonest and misleading. * A number of people on Facebook are frustrated, for example, that Obama's speech earlier today didn't address needing tighter gun control in terms of actually wanting new, national legislation. While I share their frustration, I have so little respect for the NRA that I don't doubt they'd try to use his statements to drive up demand for guns now, just like they have for the entire time that Obama has been president, to significant social detriment (how many people killed themselves and their families over the prospect of a second Obama term, again?). Too many people want stories like this to be true, and common, so that they can take principled stands against social ills like this, and promote their own goodness by making platitudes about how, in that situation, they'd take a bullet for a kid. I don't give a shit how good a person you are, those 18 kids are still dead either way.
