Well, it's annoying because I had a credit report last year and my credit was fabulous not AAA but way better then average. So, I don't know what fucked it up. I've paid all my bills as far as I know. Other then the student loan I don't have any long term debt. There maybe the chance my mother took out stuff in my name and that is where these bills were racked up from, but again I am not sure, and I can't ask because she will deny it (she has done stuff like this before though).

Actually, my boyfriend recently applied for a line of credit then a small loan and then a credit card. The bank declined him on all three so he just went to a different bank and got a small ($600) credit card there. The bank he's normally at where he applied for everything said they basically just aren't giving anyone any loans or credit due to the economy. Unless you're super-rich and have three times the amount you're asking for in your bank account, you'll basically get declined. I guess the economy is that bad.

Just as a warning to folks with student loans, if you've been out of school more than 2 years they're probably going to garnish your tax refund. A friend of mine's wife is in this situation and just got a letter from the IRS saying as much...apparently it doesn't matter if you've been paying or not. I'd have to wonder what's going on with this situation. I've been out of college for over eight years now, and no one's forcing me to pay the entire remaining amount of my tuition all at once. My payments actually went down by a significant amount about two years ago. I'd say the average person who pays on time has nothing to worry about. You form a contract with the lender to pay a set amount of money at set intervals for a set amount of time. They can't change that without you giving them a reason.

Yeah, honestly it could just be that she's a deadbeat (which wouldn't surprise me...not going there, though, hah). Personally, I hope their case is the exception rather than the rule.

Is this for federal student loans? I could see that (some how). I can't see how else this would work. I don't have government student loans all of mine are from a private student loan company (for better or worse).
[Edit] Also good news everybody! Apparently the items in collections were for Doctors. Doctor's I've never seen and from 2005. Which makes it look like it was some big fuck up and not my Mom or Identity Theft. But fuck was it annoying to go though and dispute that with all the credit report companies.

So Megaten Haven is still around too? I may have to pop around and see if my account is still there.

Ultra-right wing nutballs piss me off. I'm a right-wing nutball myself, but there are certain types that drive me nuts; I might have mentioned this before, but jeez... they're talking about the stuff in Arizona and how it's such a great state because of their recent reforms that they passed. Here's some background if you're one of you "feriners" on the board (just kidding guys):
1) There's this thing where you have to present your birth certificate if you want to run for office (which I thought was standard, but whatever). The guys in my office responded by saying that it's great, because then nobody can "cheat" like Obama (what?).
2) You now have to prove you're a US Citizen to highway patrol in Arizona. An American-born latino guy from California got arrested because apparently his CDL and Social Security Card weren't good enough for the cop, and his wife had to go get a copy of his freaking birth certificate. My coworkers were saying that the guy probably couldn't speak english or something.
I'm pretty insensitive myself, but shit...

I used to be a left-wing fanatic, myself, but I realized at some point that partisanship is just about the dumbest and most annoying goddamn thing ever. That said, I'm still a liberal at heart, if not on the ballot.
Maybe it's different in America, where the left and right (according to what I see on TV) have pretty polarized ideologies, but here it Canada, it seems like sometimes the grits and tories oppose each other purely for the sake of not agreeing. Even when both sides want the same damn thing, they find ways to disagree over it. This, as opposed to the fucking real world, where it's perfectly reasonable to change your mind in the face of convincing evidence, and where compromise is generally seen as a good thing, and not a sign of weakness.
That, and I really couldn't stand the snotty little kids in black hoodies who violently protest whateverthefuck just because they don't like "the man." Little shits undermine valid discourse, and all for social causes they probably didn't even bother to research beforehand.

I think in the case of the ultra right wing we hear more about them because they are the loudest voice. So, it seems all Republicans must be that way but that's not true. There has also been a shift where the Republicans are far more conservative then they ever were. Eisenhower was more liberal in Obama in a lot of ways.
The problem I have with both Democrats and Republican parties is they are both too nebulous in ideology. It's become if you lean to conservative or liberal you in up in one or the other party. But there are different levels and a moderate conservative or liberal does not equal an extreme conservative or liberal. Both moderates and extremes end up in the same parties though.
I'm really hoping "tea baggers" will break off into their own parties so we can tell them to fuck off.
On another note: The Haven is still around but it's been dead for a long time. I need to kill it at some point but I always feel bad about it. But if you got people who would be interested in posting there that would be awesome.

THIS.Canadian politicians really piss me off sometimes. When I do vote, it's usually for the NDP, Green Party or something to that effect. My neighbour across the road ran for NDP and I voted for her and was going to volunteer to help with her campaign but I had to go out of town for school. She got in a car accident after and is in one of those power wheelchairs now. Also, I might be able to round up some people to go to the Haven. I'm going to try and get a hold of the old 'Atlus crew' I used to always talk to on the Atlus forums and various spin-off forums. That, and I ran into some people where I'm living who play Atlus games. :3

Jave: Nope, one has to hate everything the other party likes over here in the US too. At least lately. So don't feel bad.
Joseph: And we all know how long it takes to get a birth certificate. Then again, I was once told that my military ID (dependent's card) was not valid and could be EASILY faked.

I just hate politics. I used to really care, until I just kind of stopped. I have no pride for my, or any other, country. I live for me and no one else.
