IOr Batman circa All-Star Batman and Robin. Man, Batman was an asshole in that. Y'know, after reading the first few bites of All-Star Batman & Robin -- I actually really, really liked it, even as a long-time Batman fan who heard all the Internet rumors and saw the scans of Batman yelling at Robin in the Batmobile, etc. It was his intent to frighten the kid out of his wits. A little misguided, perhaps, but taught him that he (Batman) still even had a lot to learn, especially about relations-- Or maybe I should just stop there, since my argument is beginning to shoot itself, in the foot. /twocents Your love for Batman is hereby revoked. I never even read all of ASB&R. I tried to, but I think shortly after the part where Batman yells about having Dick eat rats I just said "whatever".
After what I read, the last fight of Dark Knight Strikes Again takes on a new context.

It's really difficult for me to read that series, along with some of the stuff that happens in Batman Beyond. I really don't like the idea of Bruce becoming such an asshole, he loses all sense of compassion for the people who are most important to him.

They've rebooted Batman too many times. It used to be dark, mystery noir, then forced into whimsical milquetoast-ness by the goddamn Comics Code (which I think is why Japanese manga was able to surpass American comics), then into over-the-top darkness in recent times. The DC and Marvel cartels have really sold out.

Gave my notice a couple of weeks ago. That's awesome- I hate my job. But it means three more weeks of working six days per week when I would really just love to not show up. Since I'm leaving there's no point in giving me work to do, so I just sit at a desk from 9a until 7p every day. :/

So, one of my wife's best friends has been dating a drug dealer for a few years. Now, as far as I know he just sells pot. Regardless, he does some pretty brisk business as far as I understand. In fact, business is so good that they're going to be looking at buying a house soon. Hell, my wife's friend is even planning on quitting working once that happens. It pisses me off to no end that my wife and I work hard at legitimate jobs and can't afford a house right now but he can.

Got a friend living here who, back when he was living in the States, supplemented his ridiculously low income (~$16,000 per year) as a special ed teacher by growing and selling pot. Paid off all his loans and moved here with $100,000 saved up! My wife and I came here with a little more than half of that, having worked as an engineer and nurse (respectively). Crazy! Doesn't piss me off though, since he's my pal. Good for him! |

Because Voltron needs the black kid's eyes to glow to even turn on or something. Seriously, every problem they deal with, the kid's eyes glow, and it's solved.
What's particularly hilarious is to try and imagine that applied to other super robot shows.

there's a certain idiot kid that keeps reappearing on ZDoom forums despite constant banning and re-banning. He was originally only banned for being an idiot, not reading any of the rules, spamming the place, basically every rule that can be broken without just flat-out being an asshole. When he got banned, he registered at least five new accounts, almost immediately after the previous one was banned. For a while I thought he'd stopped, but that was only because he'd taken to Doomworld instead. When Doomworld obviously wanted nothing to do with him, he came back and managed to get past the "approval phase" of registration, where the user's first post gets evaluated by a moderator before they're allowed to post anything.
That's about when he posted shit everywhere again. since I'm the only moderator that's active at this time of day, I got to mop it up.
I was directed to a post he made on Doomworld where he revealed his true motive: apparently he was an "acquaintance" of one of our regular users and is stalking him. And, probably coincidental, happens to be a gay furry. God, why is it that the worst users always end up being (or at least pretend to be) gay furries? What is it about them that always ends up dragging stupid, needless drama to ZDoom?
What the fuck is wrong with the Internet?
No, what the fuck is wrong with humanity as a whole?!
