All of us have thousand wishes. To be thinner, to be bigger, have more money, have a cool car, a day off, a new phone, to date the person of your dreams. Mine is that you won't repost this. I know that 97% of you will post this as a reply, but my friends will be the 3% that don't. In honor of everyone who just wants to use HG101 to talk about games, and not read tons of stupid shit, don't post this, not even for a second. quoted for tr--wait...fuck

Ugh. Reminds me of that idiotic meme a year or two ago, where people changed their user pics on FB to cartoon characters to STOP CHILD VIOLENCE!!! I personally beat seventeen children to death just to spite them all. I did that in honor of Gabumon mostly but anyways, I think the point was that posting from our childhood would make us more mindful of children around us. I work at an afterschool program and sometimes it's just incredibly depressing how some parents or guardians treat their children. Whether its not teaching them right from wrong, not taking the time to give them baths, or simply not taking the time to teach their child to read. I know as parent's who need to support their families it's hard to take the time for their children, but it's utterly deplorable that a child will tell me that no one at home will help her with her homework. Sometimes I just wish that people would take an alotted hour of the day to turn all their attention to their children and even some who aren't their but are around them and help them with something, whether it's learning a skill, building a little self-esteem, or maybe just playing together.

Changing your avatar on Facebook will not end child violence, it won't even lessen it. It just makes people feel like they did something for a good cause. There's definitely a real problem with the way children are raised and treated in today's society, but that's precisely why memes like this are so insulting.
But I might be a little biased, since I drowned to death as a small boy while some teenagers were having sex.

I changed mine to The Simpsons, but it was an image of Homer strangling Bart. I think I changed mine to Pedobear. Some people were no amused. LOL, nice . I also like Jason's response (re: response to the Crystal Lake employee's neglect).

Nothings really changed much. Hell, my in-law has told me dozens of times how he was treated like an animal through most of his life from birth. (Granted he tends to exaggerate things, but i can tell at least some of what he says is true.)

Sadly, I think your right Jason X. I think the point of the act went over alot of the posters heads. Also, that's not that bad I knew a janitor once who died in a fire, but...

It's just that all these online "movements" are so pointless, even if the "cause" is a good one. The internet can be amazing for supporting RL movements (protests in Egypt and Iran) but when it's just a bunch of people clicking a button, or mindlessly reposting something on Facebook, it is meaningless. These things are started by people who just want to feel self-important.

I think they need to force people to watch "The Land Before Time" and "All Dogs Go to Heaven," then have them go read this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Judith_Barsi. I feel really bad for that kid.

It's times like this I wish I could go back in time with a handgun and a single bullet. Bastard should've died screaming instead of being allowed to kill his wife and daughter like that.

What's pissing me off right now?
When you do everything you can to help someone try to recover from a past of being abused (emotionally and sexually), when their abuser begins stalking them and threatening everyone who dares speak, and yet it seems like you've finally made a breakthrough...
...only for them to go back to defending and enabling their abuser, and completely cutting ties with you after said abuser (and other of his enablers) has made threats of physical violence against you (not them).
That shit pisses me off.

I might be missinterpreting something here but that sounds likes she's covering for your ass now.
What's been driving me insane lately is how easy it is to forgive in my crappy islander culture. Even if it's the holidays. Some motherfucker from your family does something life-threatening to you and another loved one and you obviously have a hard time forgiving that person and you're not the only one who feels the same way. But then what happens is you and that other group show evil cold imported tough love and chastisizement when the other majority simply decides that it's over as if nothing happened.
So basically, I'm being asked to literally become somebody I'm not. Motherfucker draws a Desert Eagle at me and I gotta be a sillyass cafre about it.
And that shit my friends, is what's pissing me off.
