The trope Helmets Are Hardly Heroic, or rather how wide-spread it is. See, the thing about Faceless Goons is that they all wear the same helmet and uniform. It's not concealing your face that makes you a mook, it's wearing the same face as everyone else. Contrast Boba Fett, who wears a helmet that, outside of expanded universe material, is completely unique to him. I wish more would take a cue from Dead Space or Metroid or even Halo and employ unique helmets instead of generic shaved-head guys. The idea that you have to see the character's face at all times to like them is just silly. If anything, the mystery as to what they may really look like underneath, or simply a contrast between the wearer and the helmet, can be just as if not more appealing.

Absolutely. I really hate that shit. I remember the Spawn movie, and how they kept his mask off for like 97% of the film. What was that for? To show his emotions better? He's fucking SPAWN. He only has two emotions: sad and mad. You don't need a clear view of his hamburger face to convey those to the audience.

I might be missinterpreting something here but that sounds likes she's covering for your ass now. It's hard to tell with him. He may claim he's 'taking one for the team', but all he's doing is hurting anyone who has tried to support him, and encouraging the person who abused him. That person (the person I speak of's abusive ex) isn't going to change his behavior over this, because as far as I can tell, he's always been insanely selfish and unstable.

Naturilich, and these holidays exist so they can lie to people about changing for the better.
This is why I like to troll Christians on April: "Happy Freaky Friday!"

(Yes I know I posted it earlier, but nobody commented, lol).

The only time the guy takes off his helmet in the comics, his face is subsequently covered in shadow. The movie had it off for like, the entire film. I'm still amazed V for Vendetta actually got through the whole movie without V ever showing some "Hollywood Burn Victim" face (like that last The Phantom of the Opera movie).

Oh, if only it had, the "Youth Revolution" movement (talk about shit that pisses me off) would be so much different. You'd have a bunch of hackers, trolls, anarchists, and hipsters running around made up to look like burn victims.

So...what exactly did Ninja Theory do that causes the press to kiss the ground they walk on?

It sure as shit wasn't Heavenly Sword. I've passed gas that held my interest for longer than that thing. Enslaved didn't exactly light up the charts, either, but I haven't had the chance to try that one first hand yet.

I just find it funny how every bit of news about DmC is about how much better it is than the original games simply because Ninja Theory is involved...despite the gameplay shown being demonstrably worse. The action pauses after each attack connects, for crying out loud!
Also, I find it kind of funny how they actually made "Dante's" hair look even worse.

When I get all disillusioned with people!
Case in point: Orson Scott Card. I really really dug Ender's Game when I read it in middle school and I liked Empire (though Hidden Empire, I thought, was terrible). I heard around the time I played Shadow Complex that he was homophobic, but I guess I must have blocked that out, cause I just read a bunch of really pretty fucking reprehensible, bigoted shit that he's said and it makes me want to torch all of his books and makes me feel weird for enjoying what he writes. On one hand, he's written some good stuff! On the other hand, I feel that he is a mean, mean individual and I don't want to support him in any way! I've always maintained that I would keep a creation and it's creator separate but I've never felt this way before. It's a weird feeling.

Well, when the creator is abrasive enough, it becomes pretty damn hard to ignore.
On a subject related a bit to my last point, I hate how "doing something different" seems to always mean "doing the exact same thing as everyone else". Ace Combat: Assault Horizon will be different from previous Ace Combat Games!...by being Call of Duty in the sky. DmC will be different from previous Devil May Cry games!...by being exactly like everything else Ninja Theory develops.
Hell, I've even seen someone claim they want Tales to be different...by looking exactly like Mass Effect.
