Blaine also feels like a really transparent self-insert and borderline Gary Stu. Funny thing about that: I actually know a guy in real life with that name, and he seems to think he's a Gary Stu. =P

I think the whole "seasonal timeskip" was one of the most annoying aspects of the show. I realize this is a problem every episode, but the season openers are the worst part given how any and all character development is tossed aside due to evens the audience doesn't even see.

I had no idea that Glee was so popular on this board.

Neither did I, to be honest.
Also, the Shining series. From probably one of the most charming settings of any fantasy RPG series I've played, to being horrible otaku fodder with no chance of redemption. They even took out all the cool beast people except for the token wolf each game and replaced them with generic catgirls.

That was my favorite aspect of the franchise! You just didn't see that kind of variety in character units back in those days. Hell, even today. Centaurs, birdmen, fucking rhinos in steam-powered plate mail. It was all just really charming.

I had no idea that Glee was so popular on this board. It's called Hardcore Gaming, not "Hardcore TV Watching"

Now it's this. I think I want to throw up. What the hell? Were Shining Force NEO and Shining Force EXA not enough? Just make Shining Force Tierkreis and be done with it. I had no idea that Glee was so popular on this board. It's called Hardcore Gaming, not "Hardcore TV Watching" Oh, no judgment here. I used to watch The Soup and Best Week Ever all the time. Just kind of surprising, I guess.

If anything, NEO and EXA were the last games with any resemblance to the classic setting. I mean, at least they had cantuals (or however you spell it) and centaurs with no catgirls in sight.

I had no idea that Glee was so popular on this board. I've watched several episodes because my wife wanted to watch it and just didn't get it. I did want to kill Sue Sylvester though. As a response to Onyx, I felt the same way about Nip/Tuck too...I enjoyed watching the show, but at the same time I hated every single character with a burning uh, hatred. And I was really sad to see that the true villains (the main characters and Julia) didn't A) die horribly or B) get AIDS/get seriously maimed or crippled and live their remaining years out in agony. But yeah, overall the characters were kind of just vehicles for shocking shit to be carried out or happen to. My main problem with annoying villains is that my work forces me to watch truly evil people defraud, cheat, and steal without any chance of penalty or consequence; I sure as fuck don't want to see that in the stuff I watch to unwind.

I wonder if I ever got badmouthed on the nerdgasm podcast...
Not curious enough to actually listen to that crap to find out... but I wonder.
