The artwork reminds me of this Though Puzzle Chronicles is not a bad game though the art work in battles is much better looking odd because their other game puzzle quest before it had better artwork. Theres some really weird scenes in this game like killing a entire small village over a item who are only fighting you because you ran into their houses smashing everything up and another scene where you fight a witch in a tower and throw her out of the window but the cut scene showing this is not after the battle but start of next area which on the map is not right next to the tower. At least the writing don't look as bad as this game also coming to steam well the censored version is.

Hahahaha! Huniepop. What a piece of joke. Having anime-style girls talking like young adults on a MTV reality show with all these F-bombs is so out of place. If this game had better writing at the dialogues and it was an Android release (the gameplay of the puzzle part looks average) I would give it a try.

I really enjoyed Gingiva. I played the game only after the recent update so I can't say what it was like initially. It's undoubtedly the longest and most ornate freeware title I've played, and tragically rather unknown. The game is just inordinately detailed and the scale supersedes any other original title in the independent league of RPGs(save for maybe Yume 2kki). Oh it is definitely detailed and it's visually striking. The thing is that it's sort of boring. Haven't played the update though, not sure if I will, but thanks for the info about it!

Thing is it look like the whole games like by what other voiced clips videos they have on their site just a warning has a straight up hentai pic in one of the top posts. www.huniepop.com/What I don't get about that Gender Bender DNA Twister Extreme game is the Artist DA account started out drawing space ships and mecha which look better than that games art by quite alot and at least it knows how absurd it is and isnt trying to hard like Huniepop is not saying either look that good though imo. Though this is the same steam that has Sakura Spirit that just seem to be a ecchi Visual Novel which despite having the warning This game includes nudity and explicit sexual dialog on it page has no full blown nudity or sex in the game. The steam reviews of it are funny at least though like 70% of the Community group screen shots are just of every ecchi pic in the game.

Wow, Huniepop is kind of unintentionally hilarious. I am amazed to see that kind of exchange in a visual novel/dating sim.

Less an artistic statement and more a budget statement.

BUT IT'S AN ARTISTIC STATEMENT Adventure games with graphics made in MS Paint are a better artistic statement. At least it gives them a wacky feeling and they don't follow a stupid trend (that of the pseudo-retro style games). Yeah, I know your reply was sarcastic but I wanted to give a serious reply.

Actually, MS Paint graphics are just as played out as pixel art aping from popular games, possibly more so!

How about Space Funeral?

Actually, MS Paint graphics are just as played out as pixel art aping from popular games, possibly more so! I won't disagree with that but at least they're not advertised as "nostalgia", "retro-style" etc. Maybe some of them will be advertised as "tribute to Eartbound" but still I'm ok with that as long as they don't rip-off the sprites of Eartbound.

isn't it great that indie developers nowadays CAN make a game with great pixelart aigan?remember the late ninties, when everything HAD to be polygons and 3D and shit. I personally LOVE that 2D "retro" graphics are acceptable now. That some games have bad art and some have good art is normal... But think about sword and sworcery or fez, weren't they amazing to look at?yes, there are lots of black sheep, but also some diamonds.
