Downloaded Art Of Fighting a few hours ago. It didn't load over all that time. I deleted the game from my Amazon games/apps then there's still something loading in the games section which throws me out of there after a few seconds. I feel like I've downloaded a virus but I've seen quite a few people saying an app or games section simply doesn't work. Oh well.

The Desolate Hope (made by the same person who made Five Nights at Freddy's) is free on Steam for some reason right now: store.steampowered.com/app/298180As you can see it's visually awesome, good music. It's some sort of metroidvania with a shoot´'em up and a RPG fight systems and it's weird as hell. There is a guide in steam that explains most of the gameplay stuff but it's still extraoirdinarely odd.

Does it matter if it's Christian or not?

It's not particularly Christian in themes until a bit at the end, and even then according to an interview with Scott the theme in question is not what people initially thought it was (apparently was about ALL lost children---stillborn, etc.---and not some pro-life statement). That much said, I hope that external folderol doesn't stop you from trying it, JDarkside. Besides, from what I've seen of his interactions with his fans Scott isn't the kind of guy to try and get in someone's grill.

Guy seems really creative and has interesting ideas, but I never liked ultra-Christian messages in media, because most of them are usually either asinine or presented in a very, very stupid or bland way. Scott seems to be a moderate form of the first one, which sort of ruins it for me. I don't want to play a game and end up having some speech or message about how abortion is evil or something like that. Just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Freddy's is probably his best series of work because he leaves out his religious beliefs, which are just too conservative for me to get behind. That thought you presented comes off as very holier than thou preaching, saying something that sounds universally acceptable, but is secretly shaming a lot of people for hard decisions they made. A ton of Christian media does this, and it always pisses me off. It just tells me the people who made those works have no idea how normal people live, which is usually entirely accurate, what with how closed off Christian schools have become, including entire college systems designed to train people into staying within the established Christian industry bubble. I have nothing against Christianity or those who worship the various faiths under that umbrella (I used to be protestant), but I do have a problem with Christian media because of just how insulting it can be.

devswithferguson.itch.io/bundle2New indie bundle for seven bucks that's helping out the Baltimore Algebra Project, a group protesting the abusive police force in Baltimore. Very experimental set, the most normal game of the bunch is The Yawhg.

For what it's worth I haven't seen anything about christianity. It's metroidvania starring a coffee pot: it's worth a shot.

JDarkside: C'mon, man. I'm an atheist and I didn't mind anything in his games---certainly nowhere near enough to avoid playing them.

JDarkside: Would it be better if he was an atheist but was still trying to push his beliefs? I'm not partial towards Christianity either, but if someone's being obnoxious, I don't discriminate.

JDarkside: Would it be better if he was an atheist but was still trying to push his beliefs? I'm not partial towards Christianity either, but if someone's being obnoxious, I don't discriminate. ? What does this line of thought have to do with anything? Nobody involved in this topic was a militant atheist dickbag, so why would that even come up in the discussion? I brought up Christianity because a) that's the religion that's being used for thematic content here, and b) Christianity has an entire subsection in every form of media known to men, and they all have very similar patterns and ideas in them. It's not the same thing. Dick atheists mostly hang out on image boards or pop up during heated political debates, Christianity has an entire series of different industries constantly trying to push their view of things, and a ton of it is so far out there that not even the majority of practicing Christians follow it. One is way, way louder, and being a bisexual, I have more personal reasons to be offended by them than dickbags like Richard Dawkins.

JDarkside: Sorry. I had a feeling that would hit a fuse... My mind instantly gravitated towards "DOUBLE STANDARDS" and wanting to be that kid who blows something wide open. I'll admit straight away that I'm an ass and I need to fix myself. I still feel like there's a developing culutral bias that's more prepared to say "that's stupid, listen to science" than to hold certain beliefs (avoid survival of the fittest based civilizations, you can be whatever gender you want even if you have male/female parts, etc.) but I really don't want to open that can of worms - that's when I get the most heated.

Enough with the religion stuff. Have you ever wanted to play as Samara Morgan? www.mediafire.com/download/gxmbv5i4xm2gdeu/jennifer-1-0-en-win.rarJennifer got your back. Jennifer is a beat'em up ala Splatterhouse from a few years ago made on OpenBOR, made by someone who goes by the name of MasterDerico and for whom english was a second language ("Births" instead of "Birds") where you control an "asian stringy haired ghost", namely Jennifer. I haven't got too far in the game but I appreciate the idea. Blood, lots of blood, metal soundtrack, incredibly over the top moves, and come on you're playing as Samara Morgan. WARNING: Violence, nudity, some rather tasteless images of dead bodies and jumpscares with scary images. Rather questionable choices, to be honest. (warning: mild screamer around the minute mark)

I remember that, played several levels but after a while I felt it falling in the mistake of many amateur brawlers, pitting the player against increasingly resistant enemies that become a chore to fight. I also remember the announcement of a sequel a few months later but it never came to be.
