Ahh Captain Commando, I always liked this track best from the game. The arcade version is good, but the melody is more pronounced in the snes version of this track. I could maybe hear this in an late 80s action movie.

So, I recently posted a song from Deadly Arts in the "guess that tune" thread, namely "Somebody Has Caved My Head" (Kaoru's stage). I chose it because it's such an oddly chill piece for a fighting game, but it wasn't my original choice from that game. Instead, the one I remembered first was "Vector of the Wind" (Azami's stage), though "Fast Forward City" (Kai's stage) is another one that stood out for me. I think it's one of those games where I have a like/dislike relationship, basically. You don't spend several hours with a game (in this case trying to train up a created fighter only to find no way to use them anywhere but the creation/training mode) and not come away without feelings of some sort about it, though.

The title of the track is totally representative. Τhe ultimate climax theme.
And this track is without doubt one of the most kickass tracks I've ever heard in a Kirby game. And considering the fact that this track is played in later stage when you get to the Hypernova mode, the most kickass powerup that Kirby ever had, gives more points to the awesomeness feeling it gives you. I love Kirby Triple Deluxe.

So, you probably wouldn't expect a Spongebob Squarepants game to have decent music, but I'm pleasantly surprised. Apparently it was made by a guy named Matthew Simmonds, aka 4-mat, who does a lot of work with XM stuff. I'm wondering if Weasel's aware of this guy, that's always been kind of his thing.

Ah yes, SuperSponge... One of the first games I remember playing. I used to be a big Spongebob fan, you see, to the point that people were genuinely concerned for my mental health. I must have been 6 or so years old. This makes me appreciate that game even more now. I'm still surprised it's a good game, given that licensed games in those days were quick cash-grabs and not Capcom tie-in quality. Thank you for this. EDIT: To prevent a double post... This song perfectly captures the level it represents. Recall that Double Cherry Pass introduces (you guessed it!) the Double Cherry powerup, which adds a clone of your character. The song has a lot of repetition in the note structure, showcasing the level's new powerup. The opening toy-piano hits add a sort of child-like wonder, while the violin adds "heartwarming adventure" into the mix. Overall a fantastic addition to the list of classic Mario tunes.

Well, shoot, I guess I spoke too soon on Spongebob. Replaying it suddenly brought back memories of cheap deaths and frustration. In fact, I'd like to write a Kusoge article for it sometime.
For a slightly better (but still generic) experience, there's Battle of Bikini Bottom on GBA, though the jump is delayed and it gives me an uneasy feeling. I could've swore the one with the Flying Dutchman was playable, but I don't trust my memory at this point.

Stretching the definition of a "song," but this was too good to pass up.
