In your opinion, what was the least enjoyable, most infuriating, overall worst game ending ever?
If you ask me, any of the Medal of Honor games would qualify - here the game builds up to a thrilling climax and then it just suddenly stops and boots you to a credits screen.

Moai-Kun for Famicom has a really lousy ending. Ending credits only and with the exact same music track as used in the gameplay. Actually, I remember this game having only one looped song. How cheap of Konami.

I'd have to say it would be Super Robot Taisen J for SNES. It just gave me a game over screen with no music :<

As a kid, I remember being ticked off by the "Game Over" screen after beating a game. It didn't matter if it came after a satisfying conclusion; seeing "Game Over" really let me down...
Hehe. I know it sounds stupid, but that was like an "F" to me. I didn't ever want to get one. I'm glad I never played Shinobi for the SMS at that age.

Pretty much any shump that ends with a "You are a super player!"/"Thank you for playing" screen. I remember R-Type 3 being an especially bad cupret on that note.

I'm hoping some people post endings that are just bad, that don't do any justice or make any sense to the plot, they'd be more interesting in my opinion the the Game Over bad endings. I heard Fahreneheit had a terrible ending.

I thought Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Capcom vs SNK 2 had pretty craptacular endings. However, even then, the endings gave me more insight on what the story of the game was about, which just goes to show just how bad the stories for those games were.

I love Chrono Cross A LOT but the pacing towards the end of the game was so messed up, and there was barely any resolution to the thousands of plot strands. I loved the credits and the ending song though, plus the bonus endings were pretty fun, so I can't be too mad.
I really can't think of any other game endings that were really BAD, pey say.

Not counting any endings that are basically "Fly into outer space as the narrator reminds you that you killed the evil space alien/robot/dictator/mutant toaster." or simply "Watch the credits and then... Game Over, you may have beaten the game but you're still a loser!"
My most hated ending is Prehistoric Isle in 1930 because it was just so anticlimatic and left me feeling empty inside. I put all of that effort (read: inserting credit after credit) into beating the game and wimpy little pterodactyls (the kind you can normally kill in one shot) destroy my ship. The worst ending of Breath of Fire II was quite unsettling (choosing to wait instead of moving on to the final dungeon). Bust a Groove had some confusing endings.

Urgh... Final Fantasy VII's ending still stays ill in my mind. Here I was, the first FF game I had ever beaten, and I expected more to happen. I was just staring at that damn nigh-blank screen (except for the stars), expecting something more to happen if I would wait faithfully. I realized that I was let down, and just walked away from the PS1, pained and confused.

Ah yes, FFVII's ending was a load of crap (not that the rest of the game was much better >_> ). FFIV and FFVI's endings had closure and resolution. FFVII had neither.
