Just saw Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom! Holy hell! My heart is still beating fast, and I'm just catching my breath... that was one hell of a ride, better than the Avatar shit today! Because this'd be good on subsequent viewings, that's the thing.
It was my first time watching an Indiana Jones film. My step bro and mom told me it was the second one though? But in the box set it says Chapters 23, 24, and 25 with Temple being 23? Then doesn't that make it the first? Or were they released out of order? Obviously, the films were the first thing made, I guess they filled in those other chapters later.
Are there any good Indiana Jones games? I somewhat doubt it... Speaking of which, are there any good classic Star Wars games (I hate the Battlefront crap...) on SNES, Genesis, NES, etc?

Yeah, Doom was the second one released, but it was technically before the other two. I'd place it at the bottom of the list as far as the series goes, with Raiders and Last Crusade at the top. Well, that's not true. Crystal Skull is at the very bottom. What a shitwad that was.
Not sure about good, classic Indy or Star Wars games. The Super Star Wars trilogy was pretty lousy. I put an inordinate amount of time into The Last Crusade on the NES, but it wasn't really good.

Raiders of the Lost Ark is unequivocally the best Indiana Jones film, a roller-coaster ride from start to finish, but an expertly crafted and intelligent roller-coaster ride. Lots of references to classic cinema like Casablanca and Lawrence of Arabia. And for good Indiana Jones video games, Indiana Jones' Greatest Adventures for the SNES is the best pre-3D Indy game, developed by Factor 5 and encompassing the original Indiana Jones trilogy of movies. Good platform action with lots of variety, nice graphics, and good synth versions of the John Williams scores.

Thanks, Mr. Namakubi! Also, yeah, I noticed it was Data. I love The Goonies, it is one of my all time favourite movies.

I love every Indiana Jones movie and I will always loved them. They are like the feeling of the best day of my life, put into a movie. Yes.
I saw Iron Man 2 with my family tonight. I didn't really like the first one but this was kick-ass! It was a ton of fun and a big improvement over the original, in my opinion. Great summer action movie.

The Indiana Jones films are awesome, but yeah, Temple of Doom is pretty different and I don't like it as much. It has less travelling around the world and "archeology", and I like the light-hearted tone of the other films a lot more. Still some pretty cool scenes though. The most interesting thing about Temple of Doom is the obvious racism. It's pretty weird how Spielberg took it from the colonialist 30s serials and played it straight. It's very uncomfortable but I commend him for it, because what the hell.

It's very uncomfortable but I commend him for it, because what the hell. It cost them filming in India, too. They had to end up filming in Sri Lanka because the Indian consulate refused to let them film in North India due to the outrageous imagery and dialogue being associated with India in the script.

Are there any good Indiana Jones games? I somewhat doubt it... Holy hell, have you never heard of Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis? Go play that. Like, right now. It's super good.

Actually, I knew about The Fate of Atlantis, and about the SNES game that plays just like Super Star Wars. I lied, but figured it'd be better for discussion.

The Losers.
Good thing I only paid $2, it was so painstakingly predictable I turned it off after Ney'tiri's character's intro.

Toho's Gunhed, visually incredible, an absolutely mess in terms of story. I still quite liked it though.
Also saw Enter the Dragon a week ago for the first time, there's nothing that hasn't already been said about this movie, it's great.

I saw Dream Sword, which I guess is some sort of Wu Xia film, but I'm not sure. It was pretty cool, but I was super tired when I started it and fell asleep. It wasn't that good, but it was awesome, if that makes sense. The subtitles were confusing, and made it seem like everything was in poem. I got it with another movie, and it is a good thing I only paid 4.99 for both together.
I also bought Kill Bill Vol. 1, which I'm very excited to watch.
Honestly, as far as The Dream Sword goes it was an interesting experience... the dialogue was weird and I thought The Dream Sword was going to be, y'know, a sword. Turns out it was three guys, including an awesome Wood Cutter, a Poet, and a Master (or something). There were lots of twists and turns including close-ups of sweaty Chinese guys to add to the tension.
I think there were like 3 music tracks... it got kind of repetitive.
The sound effects were awesome though, totally awesome. Like, they're so over the top and you hear them all the time, it is amazing! I like when people jump and you get that ZwoooooOOOP noise.
The sets were painful, along with the costumes. I'm okay with cheesy sets and costumes, but what was annoying was just how brightly coloured everything was. If ancient China looked like that it'd be trez terrible.
I was describing the movie to my brother as I watched it and it was pretty entertaining how nonsensical everything was, especially to him, but even for me. Stuff like a guy going one way to go back to his house from a store and then meeting someone, and returning the way of the store, which apparently leads back to his house ONLY TO BE ATTACKED BY CRAZY TRAPS.
Like levetating maces.
