With all the bullshit Capcom has been pulling lately, if they cancel Legends 3 they are going to be crushing the last remaining shreds of fondness that longtime fans have for the company.

What is this Capcom you speak of? There is no such company with that name.

What if they cancelled it because it was shaping up to be shitty?

Can we really trust Capcom to know if a game is shitty or not?

What if they cancelled it because it was shaping up to be shitty? Well, they could cancel it because they're jerks who are paranoid about the game not being popular and profitable enough, or they could cancel it because it sucks and they no longer have even the faintest scrap of talent left in the company. Either way, it'll be the last nail in the coffin for me. The only thing that has kept me even slightly happy with Capcom recently is the Monster Hunter franchise, but if they just straight up cancel Legends 3, I'm done with Capcom games, period.

Man, my life lately has been an utter fucking living hell. Bridges are being burnt with people I've known longer than I've even been at this forum and the last couple days I have had a perpetual ball of stress wound so tightly in my chest I have felt like I've just wanted to roll over and die.
Then to top it all off it looks like Mega Man Legends 3 is being canceled lol.
I mean, come on, Capcom. You would seriously kick me like this when I'm down? After teasing your fans for fucking months as if you were going to do something, you're going to pull this shit? When I spent $250 for a piece of shit to play a pay-for demo of one single game I've wanted for like a decade, you would seriously spite me like this?
Okay, I'm not really taking it that personally, but it does genuinely infuriate me they would lead their fans (and me) on this much only to potentially cancel the fucking project. It feels like a kick when I'm down, and it's coming from a company that's become borderline contemptuous of their fanbases with shit like DmC, exploitation of the RE franchise and neglected sequels to longtime favorites (as well as countless other stupid instances of bullshit).

I think one of the saddest things is that after this, Megaman is pretty much dead. They already said they were reluctant to make any more because they thought they didn't sell in the West.

I'm thinking what Capcom really means when they say "We don't think Mega Man sells in the West" is "We are lost without Inafune". Mega Man was always his baby, and I wouldn't be surprised if Capcom doesn't believe they can live up to his legacy. Either that or they want to distance themselves from him after he said that Japanese game development was stagnating. If they were concerned about sales in the west they could easily keep Mega Man in Japan.

I can't believe anyone at Capcom would seriously think Mega Man doesn't sell in the west. I know that's what has been said, but I just can't believe that they really think that. It has to be bullshit. It can't be the first thing, because they still make Resident Evil games despite Mikami having left.

Whenever I see a Mega Man Legends 3 topic bumped on a forum I still think it'll be about some new information on the game. I should stop fooling myself and just assume it will be about growing concerns over the game's rumored cancellation again. The Capcom scare tactics continue. Or, I guess it's the fans scaring themselves this time.

With all the bullshit Capcom has been pulling lately, if they cancel Legends 3 they are going to be crushing the last remaining shreds of fondness that longtime fans have for the company. That's the exact reason why I think they wouldn't do this-no, I fucking DARE them to do this. I know I myself wouldn't buy anymore Capcom games after AE (except if it's in such a way that they make no profit whatsoever off my purchase.) Also they're to appear at San Diego Comic Con the week after next; there will either be good news by then, or people will rage hard. I mean, everyone actually cares about this. Nobody gave two shits about Mega Man Universe beyond "cool, you can play as bad box art Mega Man and Ryu from SF!". Admit it. and it's clear there was no direction for them to go (other than a poor man's LittleBigPlanet: Megaman Edition), even with Inafune around. What if they cancelled it because it was shaping up to be shitty? But it wasn't The videos of the staff going through the early Prototype Edition shows they already had the look and feel of the series down, and the action moved at great speed. They -still- didn't think it was ready for prime time.

On on the one hand, this probably isn't the time to be jumping to conclusions. We don't know if the game is cancelled or will be cancelled or not.
On the other hand, it might be a good time to prepare mentally for the worst, just in case.
