To be honest as cool as the development process of legends 3 seemed it would not surprise me if the whole thing was a scam to help 3DS sales and directly help Capcom shift copies of SF43d and Resi3D. I mean look at Inafune, his pet project finaly gets announced and he gets to work on it, THEN he leaves Capcom, suddenly we find out the game never got green lit and then BAM game is canceled. I'd leave if the company I had been working for after so many years wouldn't let me take a chance with something they had already established and then decided to use my pet project as just a way to fool fans into buying the 3DS.
There must be some individual who decided to make Legends 3 happen only to cancel it and kick everyone's hopes and dreams to the curb. This cant be all of Capcom's fault. I mean they must love legends, right?

Wow, for once I actually am surprised- I thought the whole dangling carrot thing they were pulling was merely just to make sure the fans bought multiple copies to guarantee good income back. I am rather disapointed to say the least- Capcom used to be synonymous with quality for me... but the last few years have been devastatingly poor (Bionic Commando 09 notwithstanding- but hey- they didn't really do anything other than slap their name on that). I doubt this is a dell knell for the Megaman franchise- Megaman 10 proved that Capcom are more than happy to make a quick £/$/€ when they can but it doesn't really fill you with high hopes does it? I guess that pretty much the only 3DS game I was interested in is now gone- oh well, didn't much fancy buying another console for only one game... Oh and Capcom? You can take your increasingly shitty DLC, DRM and the shitty games of late shove it up your arse- cause I still have a bunch of great games from a company I used to be proud to call my favourites of all time. Shame on you.

So, with this latest and depressing event, is it safe to assume that Capcom has finally reached Activision levels of douchebaggery? Either way, they are no longer the same company I used to admire for their talent and products.

Yeah... an MM11 could be the ONLY thing the franchise is destined for other than death. No games in development at all atm. It has never been like that, ever. Guess it's time to start buying Capcom games used for me, for the goods they DO make. The other thing I'm pissed at? All these devs dropping/delaying 3DS games or saying "no plans", depriving it what IT FUCKING NEEDS RIGHT NOW. Assassin's Creed: Cancelled, carcass swallowed whole into AC: Revelations. Saints Row Drive By: Cancelled DJ Hero 3D: Cancelled BloodRayne: Indefinitely postponed Crush 3D: Delayed because of 3DS adoption rate And now this.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The "good" Capcom died a long time ago. It was shortly after they closed their arcade division. After that, all of their talent gradually went to other companies (Okamoto, Funamizu, Mikami, Kamiya and now Inafune) and now they got no choice but to farm out their games to other companies.

Anyone know what site this came from? If this is real, then someone needs to answer for the lies. It looks like 4chan, but I can't believe that's real. It's probably photoshopped.

It almost always bothers me when this happens to consoles. Unless developing for the 3DS is much, much harder than that of the DS, I just don't understand why nobody's willing to take any risk at all.

This is all really unusual. The reception of the 3DS must have been a lot more lukewarm than I realized.

The only compelling reason I had to buy a 3DS was Mega Man Legends 3, and with that gone, I don't see myself investing in one for the forseeable future.
Now don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the 3DS is doomed. However, the lack of killer apps and the delayed launch of the 3DS Virtual Console has really made these first few months a rough time for the system.

So, with this latest and depressing event, is it safe to assume that Capcom has finally reached Activision levels of douchebaggery? Activision at the very least still publishes some good games. More than you can say about Capcom.

On handhelds Capcom isn't doing too bad with stuff like Ghost Trick, Ace Attorney and Monster Hunter, but yeah, on consoles...not so much.
And at least I still have one game left for the 3DS I was highly anticipating ever since its announcement and that is Paper Mario. Still, just one game. Not quite the best track record.

I just came to think: We all know there now is no MM game officially in development anymore, but in addition, when was the last time you could leave a store with a brand-new copy of a MM title? Mega Man Zero collection on DS? And the last time you could actually play the blue bomber? I seriously can't remember. It must have been years now already! Mega Man X8? One of those Starforce things on DS?

Which "blue bomber"? You do know there's like seven or so different incarnations of Megaman (counting Zero from the Zero series).
