That fucking does it. When DmC comes out, everyone should feel free to join me in torrenting the shit out of it. That is what I will dedicate my computer to when the time comes. Thanks, but I'll be fine just not buying it.

Japanese videogames are DOOMED!
It doesn't help that the most prominent guy, Kojima, is babbling nonsense about "everyone working in games wanted to do something else but failed so here they are" and "in order to appeal to the western market you should have a whole separate division devoted to appealing to the western market."

No. That just sends the message of "we want to play your game but would rather steal it than pay for it," encouraging publishers to implement increasingly draconian DRM measures. The correct solution is to not play the game at all. Ignore it completely.

Am I having a serious case of déjà-vu here or did we already have the very same discussion in another thread, also with munchy suggesting to torrent the game and virtually nobody agreeing due to the reason feynman just gave?

It was this thread. A few pages back. I don't really have any goal with it outside of pure anger and spite at Capcom. Mature? Nope. Justified? Considering it's a completely different property, probably not. But however indirect, I need to feel some kind of retribution, dammit.

Ok, so let's all retreat to our retro cocoons and play some multiplayer Mercs and Street Fighter II. After all, this is a website about good old games! Forget the present.

At least no one can cancel SolatoRobo out of our DSses. First Irem kills off Steambot Chronicles 2 and now this ;_; Why can't i get my Ghibli-Hills games? Seriously, fuck you Crapcom!! I have never felt so much rage over canceled game before, somehow this just hurts

So, tell me, what would have happened if Capcom released that demo/prototype and still didn't deem the response satisfactory enough to go on with the project? Or should they have been forced to go on, even if it turned into a financial loss, because of some obligation to any fans who bought the demo? Also, the fact it was going to be sold bugs me a lot. Now people is lamenting the evils of Capcom (and the game industry in general) but they were willing to be part of the evil by accepting such a move.
Or not?
You know, goodwill and promises are a thing, shelling out the cash another... The bad move was to involve the community so tightly and make such promises firsthand, but pulling the plug before doing anything more may have not been the worst decision.
I care little about Megaman but I wonder what will happen to the franchise. Although an important one, I don't see it to be really huge today. Personally I saw 9 and 10 as volutarily niche projects, a small investment that wouldn't have been a big loss even if they completely bombed.

Anyone know what site this came from? If this is real, then someone needs to answer for the lies.

If Capcom really cared about Legends, they would've already released Part 3 on the PS2 ages ago instead of waiting for a portable platform with a gimmicky 3D display to come out. Instead, they made X7, X8 and Command Mission. So this cancellation doesn't surprise me a bit. I don't have that much of a hard-on for the Legends series to be honest, since I only played the first one years ago and thought it was a decent game, but I wouldn't lose much sleep if they never make another one.

I wonder if Capcom will keep using servbots with their logo.
