My largest complaint is everything feels French, this will not sell well in England for that very fact. As an Englishman I disagree with your view, good sir! Then again I do love France to the extent that I emigrated, so perhaps I am biased.

I actually put down the full amount for the game in advance, and just picked it up today. Absolutely loving it thus far.

I'm hoping to find it tomorrow, otherwise I'll be ordering it from somewhere. I really wish to support XSEED's effort here.

Just two things:
1. I wish there were a Hard Mode like in Tail Concerto. About the only thing thus far that had me worried was an arena challenge where you weren't allowed to take a hit.
2. The gameplay should have been on the top screen. I know, it's weird, but if your game makes absolutely no use of the touch screen at all, why put the gameplay itself on the touch screen?
Other than that, it's been great. Really loving the presentation and feeling of adventure.

Other than that, it's been great. Really loving the presentation and feeling of adventure. Looking back at it, that would have been a better choice. I guess I was just too enamoured with the presentation at the time to think of that (funny how that happens, eh?) I'm just glad that the US fans can finally play it, given that there are probably quite a few more people in the US that played Tail Concerto than in Europe and they've been wanting a follow-up for years. Kat Bailey at GamePro seemed to really like it as well. www.gamepro.com/article/reviews/223415/review-solatorobo-red-the-hunter-ds/

I'd put this up there with Ace Attorney, Ghost Trick and The World Ends With You when it comes to my favorite presentations on the DS. Speaking of The World Ends With You, I feel it and this game really show you what can be done with 2D backdrops. I love all the unusual camera placements (like the one in Shetland where the view is from inside the bar, complete with characters in the foreground). I'm also surprised by the lack of repetition in the NPC sprites. It's still there, of course, but it's still kind of surprising to see characters that don't even have names get individual sprites.

Seems like places stocking this game is kind of uneven. Amazon has it (of course), but it doesn't even seem to be in Frys' system, and Newegg lists it as out of stock.
I'm thinking limited print run?

Seems that way. The official website lists only GameStop and Amazon as carrying it.

Yeah, in the UK, I believe only GAME and Gamestation stocked it. Seems kind of limiting, although it has held its value pretty well on Amazon UK so far.

Yeah, I had to buy it at Gamestop yesterday. Target claims to be getting it online, but whatever stock they had apparently sold out already. *shrugs* Love the packaging treatment, though. I'm glad to have it!

I'll probably scoop this up in the next month or two, before they all disappear. I've pretty much lost count of my backlog at this point.

I saw the cover of the american version and I like it. Much better than the european cover. At least at the american cover you get the impression "Oh, this is gonna be an adventure with drama.". lusipurr.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/solatorobo.jpgÏÊ, let's see: Low score? I can deal with it. "It's a furry game" crap? I can deal with it. Anime references? Now this something I can't deal with. I have fed up with all these smart-ass that try to show off with having seen only 2-3 well-known anime and compare ANY anime-style game they see with Miyazaki's works. We all know that some Miyazaki's works (like Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind) have inspirited many other creators in the anime/videogames industry but he's not the only one talent in the world so stop this crap! And expecially when you make comparisons with something totally different. Porco Rosso fantastical? This anime wasn't so fantastical to begin with. If you want to compare it with another famous anime, do it with Laputa - Castle in the Sky which shares the same theme (flying islands and so on). Cowboy Bebop's sky pirates? SKY PIRATES?! They're bounty hunters in both Cowbow Bebop and Solatorobo for the God's sake! Has he even really seen Cowboy Bebop? And by the way, what's the deal with the "furry" tag? Do they desperately try to attract the furry fandom with the magical word "furry"? And why do games like Okamiden and BlazBlue have the tag "furry"? Chibiterasu is a freaking dog and Makoto is a a human girl with squirrel ears and tail. And what the hell: Monster Hunter too? Is it because of the dragons? I love dragons, therefore I'm a furry? Oh, I forgot: it has furry cats, too, as mascot! Therefore it's a furry game! See? *Huge sign* Sorry for the rage post.
