Wow. Almost everything they complain about is what makes me love the game. Also, one of the posters there has a FFXIII avatar. Instant irrelevant person.

Oddballs in the series, huh?
Does the Mega Man Legend series count? If not, The Misadventures of Tron Bonne surely does, right? I loooove those games. I also really enjoy Neo Contra, although it's sunken out of my favorite Contra games. Hmmm... Star Soldier: Vanishing Earth for the N64 was pretty fun, even though it's definitely one of the weakest in the series.
There areeeee... probably a bunch more of these that I can't think of right now that I did enjoy.

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter is the best game nobody liked. =( This. ;D I really, really enjoyed Dragon Quarter. In my opinion, it was WAY better than BoF 1-4. But 1 and 2 were great! Never really liked 3 and 4, though.

Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter is the best game nobody liked. =( I actually hear this a fucking lot. So much so that I bought the game. Of course, I'm still trying to work up the esteem to tackle another RPG, and when I do, I have, like, what... 30 to choose from? - in fact, I think I'm going to start a thread on this and related sentiments.

Most of these have already been mentioned:
Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance King of Fighters XII Final Fantasy II (Not my favorite from the series, but I really enjoyed it) Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
And if I'm going off of the opinion of my friends, Majora's Mask.

Speaking of which, make sure to pay attention to your play time on that. I'm already up to 10 hours, and I really haven't done much. I just made it into Facade, and it seems doubtful that I'll be able to finish the rest of the story in another 5 hours.

First of all, I think Castlevania Harmony of Dissonance is fantastic. Aria of Sorrow is arguably the more polished game but who wants polished? Everyone, I guess. Except me. I want quirky and "wrong". I'm not trying to be different. I just found it more interesting than any other Metroidvania ever made. Also, I must admit that I enjoyed Suikoden IV a whole lot more than I would like to admit. It's not my favourite in the series, but I think it's seriously underrated. To this day I haven't met one single person who likes it. Not IRL, not online. This has made me seriously question my taste level, but in the end I liked the game. Deal with it I actually liked Suikoden 4 a lot too. It felt much more like an actual "Suikoden" game than 3 did, although I haven't finished 3 yet. I just wish it didn't end so abruptly like that. I missed so many of the recruitable characters cause it let you just go to the last dungeon without any warning! Despite being the black sheep of the series, I love Ys 3 a lot (particularly the SNES version cause that's what I grew up with.) I don't know if it's my favorite in the series, but it's probably near the top. There was just a lot that I liked about that game. The music, the graphics, the gameplay (even though it could have been better), the settings, etc.

I liked Suikoden IV a hell of a lot more than II. *grabs flame shield*
As for other oddballs, I have a softspot in my heart for MegaMan 6. And Zelda 2, which I like a lot more than the first Zelda.

Also for me, Kingdom Hears: 358/2 Days.
I don't know, I just liked the level of customization and the odd, slice-of-life-ish plotting. Resonance of Fate did something similar, but I liked Days' shorter, more numerous episodes. The graphics and framerate were pretty damn good for a polygonal DS title, and I liked how the different Keyblades gave you different attack animations.
Kingdom Hearts II kind of killed my interest in the franchise, even though I liked the final battle. But this one pulled me back in.

The Cyber Shinobi is actually pretty... nah you cant talk that one right ;p
Zombie Revenge? I think its one of the best game available on the Dreamcast, maybe even in the HOTD series. But dreamcast/sega fanboys seem to flame me if I put that on top of some dreamcast top 10 list :/ But I think even in the gameplay section its pretty tight, I wouldnt call it kusoge... Looks only bit jerky in animation.
Theres probably more i cant remember now. Seem to have knack to like games everybody else hates :/

I have nothing but respect for anyone who's achieved full 1/4 D-ratio in that game.
