I honestly didn't intend that, but... I do feel as if I've missed an opportunity to point out how awesome Testament looks. Fixed

Just about every SNK Boss is baller as fuck, but nobody, and I mean nobody beats the O.G., Rugal. Whether it's stylish, pimptastic '98 Rugal or straight up evil-hobo Rugal in CvS2, KoF's inaugural boss is the best in the business, and SNK knows this, that's why they bring him back to life every few years. He might not be as snazzy as some of the other SNK bosses, and he isn't even that cheap (he just has a lot of priority). He doesn't rain down on you with screen-filling energy pillars or inescapable vortexes of death, he just beats your ass and looks stylish doing it. Also, Genocide Cutter is just about the coolest name for a special move ever. What about Mark Twain 2099 cyborg Rugal from 95?

Though, I'd say given Rugal's implied heritage, he's more Friedrich Nietzsche than Mark Twain. That's probably where the "Genocide" comes from, too.

I don't want to hear that shit. At least Darkstalkers fans get a character in every Capcom fighting game. I'm a Breath of Fire fan. I'll never hear from Breath of Fire again.

Question: Should the whole Red Earth article be linked here?

At least Darkstalkers fans get a character in every Capcom fighting game. And in some rpg like Namco X Capcom.

How could you forget this dude? Even back when I was a little kid and was stuck with the stripped-down Genesis port of MK2, this guy had a huge impact on me. Like most fighting game bosses of the time, he was an incredibly cheap bastard who could predict and counter anything you did. UNLIKE most fighting game bosses, he was very much aware of this fact, and would constantly stop to remind you on how much he was kicking your ass. Especially the Genesis version, where all his dialogue was cut down to "You WILL die!". And I would. A lot. It was awesome. Sadly, every MK boss pretty much went straight down the toilet along with the quality of the games after that. On the other hand, we've got Magneto from Children of the Atom. He wasn't all that special compared to, say, Apocolypse or Onslaught, but MAN, his music was badass.

That's probably where the "Genocide" comes from, too. Very true, very true. The whole "Mark Twain 2099" thing came from someone making an observation about Omega Rugal while I was trying to beat KOF 95. He's not just a god, but a superstar, y'know. I'd like to add Krauser to the list of favourite video game bosses, for his goofy voice samples alone. Oh, the fun we used to have trading the KOF 96 boss theme voice samples back and forth back in the day. Also, attached, something for the Mr. Big fans out there. ;D Attachments:

In the end I think I have to go with Geese Howard, even though he's become much easier to beat since the first few FFs. He's got a badass soundtrack that's been reused and remixed over and over since you can't possibly top it, and he doesn't have any goofy fantasy costumes or shit like that.
In much the same way, that's why I think Sagat is Street Fighter's best boss character. Heck, he's so cool he's one of the few characters aside from Ken and Ryu who still managed to be popular after Street Fighter 1!
Other SNK bosses are OK too, but I prefer Geese's no-frills, martial arts, skill-based approach. I can see why fans like Rugal, but I'm not as much into that military vibe.

I'm probably going to catch hell for this, but who cares. I love absolutely everything about Goenitz. His moves, his level, his theme, and his attitude is awesome. I always wondered, is there some distant relationship between Goenitz and Yamazaki? I ask mainly because of their hair and their Orochi whatever power.

As far as I know, the only relation they have is that they are both a part of the Hakkesshu, but Yamazaki has no interest in being a part of the group or their goals, so he's usually unaccounted for.

My vote goes to Original Zero.
The fact that he fights alongside Glaugan, Krizalid and Ron just makes me ecstatic.
