I find it funny that people (mostly Nintendo fanboys) praise the Nintendo Entertainment System for saving the American video game market at a time it was filled with sholvelware (I don't think it did, Nintendo was simply at the right place at the right time when they released the NES), yet the Wii and DS libraries are filled with nothing but shovelware that have overshadowed actual quality games in terms of sales. Is there anything interesting heading for the Wii anyway? Besides the new Zelda?

Not to mention that the gaming industry wasn't completely gone, like some people say. In Japan and Europe, it was as strong as ever.

So the first one is the worst? Hmmm... I beat it, and I don't like adventure games. Maybe I'll like the sequels better....
EDIT: I mean, really. Think about it. An adventure game.... with Japanese themes and humor... It's a miracle we have 6 localized games about this already!

The fanbase widely considers the third game the best, the first close to it, and the second game to be a real low point in the series. Apollo Justice and Investigations receptions are all over the place, though.

Why can't I find a cheap copy, dag nabbit? Ye must not be looking very hard because it's 19 bucks on Amazon right now. Also, Apollo Justice is 17 bucks if anyone is interested. Unless by cheap you mean 5 bucks, then yeah, you won't find it that cheap.

Well, shipping from Amazon.com to Canada is overly expensive (and for some resellers, prohibited).

Well, I'm in the same situation but you'll never buy anything if you don't want to pay the shipping charges.
In my case, it's still way cheaper to buy from outside my country.

I love Apollo Justice the most, personally, with Trials & Tribulations second and the original third. Justice for All isn't bad, but it has my least favorite case (Moe the Clown, anyone?) and the most typos and grammatical problems. I haven't tried Investigations, because, as Kitten mentioned, the fan reporting was all over the place, and I didn't really care for the switch to a more point-and-click style of gameplay. So this news isn't breaking my heart, but I would feel better if more games beyond the Layton crossover were in the works for the 3DS (I think the 3DS is the primary factor in the game's localization rejection, to be honest).

Yeah, I'd have to second Wildcat and say that Apollo Justice is my favorite for the series, as well. Maybe others were just disappointed that Nick wasn't the star.

The Phoenix Wright trilogy are the best ones in my opinion, especially the third. Apollo Justice is not as good as the original trilogy (the prosecutor was not as antagonistic as the ones in previous games, which took out any dramatic tension), but I'll say the final case is pretty worth it (even if the ending is a complete cop-out). Didn't really care that much for the first Miles Edgeworth game and I'm not gonna lose much sleep if the second doesn't get localize.

Still haven't tried AAI, but my order of preference goes:
T&T > PW > AJ <=> JFA
AJ and JFA I waffle on which I like more. I did like the gameplay additions to AJ and I liked a lot of the side characters like Detective!Ema, Trucy, and Klavier, But none of the cases were really standout good and the final case was just one wallbanging copout after another. Apollo also isn't all that interesting or endearing a character even compared to Nick in just the first game. But then AJ didn't have the sin against God that was Case 2-3.

I couldn't even play beyond case 2 in AJ as it was so bloody hideous from the get go. I think for me it would go PW, T&T, AJFA, Edgeworths one and then AJ.

To be honest, I rank Apollo Justice pretty highly on the scale, particularly because of the final case. I do wish Apollo had more characterization and background than just "The Only Sane Person" (he didn't even get as much of a backstory as Phoenix's whole grade-school trial thing), but I still prefer AJ over JFA, and maybe slightly over the first game as well, but there's no way it beats Investigations or T&T.
