I don't blame them. The first one sold horribly. They were practically giving it away on Amazon a few months ago.

That's really unfortunate news, but you can hardly blame Capcom USA for bothering when folks won't buy the games. I have every localized Phoenix Wright game so I'm certainly annoyed at the situation but the hate is really misguided.

I also have every localized PW game, and this pisses me off. This is how Capcom rewards my loyalty? OBJECTION!

Serious? That's pretty unfortunate.
If AAI2 doesn't see release outside of it's native country, well... I'm not going to be totally brokenhearted about it, but I will be disappointed, as I'm sure will be a lot of other people who've loved the series since it's first installment.
I'm somewhat of a fan myself. I enjoy the games, and I own each one in the series so far. I would have liked to see all what AAI2 had to offer, even though that timed Logic Chess deal is a bit of a turn-off for me.

I'm more annoyed that Nintendo hasn't localized the second DS Fire Emblem game yet. The Japanese release is nearly approaching its one-year anniversary. At least the Hotel Dusk sequel was released in Europe.

If they don't announce it at this E3, then forget about it. They already passed on Mother 3 and the first GBA Fire Emblem, so I don't doubt they will do the same here.

I have every localized Phoenix Wright game so I'm certainly annoyed at the situation but the hate is really misguided. On the other hand they're willing to throw away money on a Devil May Cry reboot that A) has met almost universal bitching/mockery and B) is developed by a largely untested and unsuccessful group whose last game bombed shit so bad that it was selling for 15 bucks in less than two months (and whose prior game didn't sell so well either). Yes, Capcom's a business. But they're also seriously penny-wise, pound foolish at business. I guess all we can hope for is that people buy shitloads of copies of AAI like they did when Crapcom said that the first Phoenix Wright failed and weren't going to localize the rest. p.s. I love how everyone on that thread is kissing that Sven guy's ass. I love the internets.

I am very disappointed but not surprised as well. When the 3DS launched, it basically set in my mind that we will never get official releases of Edgeworth 2 or Layton 4 and 5. One thing about this series that that it has a huge cult following. I'm sure that If we don't get an official translation, we will have someone working on a fan one in a short time period. Game Center CX 2 is being fan translated already so I think there's not much of a chance people will pass on translating this one on their own in a timely fashion, as well.

As someone who pre-ordered (or bought very close to release date) every single US-released Ace Attorney game, this is disappointing news. I've been evangelizing about the series to just about everybody that has cared about this genre, and this is a slap in the face by Capcom. I feel betrayed.
Then again, it's not as if AAI ended on a cliffhanger...

How many games are there in these series already anyways? You gotta admit nobody buys these games except us, so don't be surprised. If anything, be surprised because the series actually got this far.

Six (Seven sort-of) games in the series: 3 Phoenix Wright games, 1 Apollo Justice game, 2 Miles Edgeworth games, and the sort-of game is Harvey Birdman which is done in the same style by Capcom.

Don't forget the upcoming Layton vs Wright. Though the way things are going, maybe they'll decide to axe that one too. (Hey, then I'd have one less reason to ever get a 3DS!) I don't blame them. The first one sold horribly. They were practically giving it away on Amazon a few months ago. Why can't I find a cheap copy, dag nabbit?

I can't blame them, I guess. The DS market is terrible right now and they did sorta milk the series dry, being that Capcom is essentially the masters of it. Did the fans really hate the first AAI though? I've gotten the impression that it was...not really despised, persay, but ranked even lower than Apollo Justice by the fan base.
It still sucks, though. I loved the series when it began but it did wear me out eventually. Maybe they'll take pity and port it to the 3DS on the cheap or something. I've liked what I played of Ghost Trick, at least.
