I'm not getting all this hate for IV's link stuff. It shouldn't be easy. And it's not like it's impossible to get bnb's (involving links) up to 80-90%. Sure, it takes a fair a amount of practice, but in the end, it's more satisfying than BlazBlue's combos.
And 3rd Strike has its fair share of links you need to know to effectively play certain characters. Example: Dudley's dart shot into Super Art. I'm pretty sure links in ST are just as tough but just as effective.

Links in ST are more difficult because there are no in-game shortcuts. They're more effective though because there's no combo damage scaling. On the other hand, they're less necessary to win because life is low; if you're good enough with spacing (and using certain characters), you don't need any links to win, although they'll certainly help.

I think the linking in SF4 adds a certain amount of strategy to the game. Do you go for the bnb combo that you can almost always pull off or go for the extra damaging but harder to link combo that could leave you open if you fail it. I didn't notice the links being tougher to pull off in SF4 compared toSF3 or SF2 unless you are talking about online which with capcoms poor online code compared to GGPO will always be more difficult.

Heh, the trailer looks pretty awesome. Definitely, be picking this up, since I had very little time with the original arcade game.

I am slightly disappointed that the backgrounds from the other two Street Fighter 3 titles were not added in, but I can't complain too much since they are using a good netcode.

I wonder why they changed the portraits under the life bars to the ones from character select. Nothing to get too worked up over in the face of so much that's goin right for this game...but still, kinda bugs me a bit.

"GGPO Enabled"? As in people can play the game cross platform with people on GGPO?

I don't like the new status display either, but at least they're not replacing the sprites with traceover comic art. I still think they should have made a proper Street Fighter III compilation with all three games though. Same thing with the Marvel games.

It does seem odd that they aren't doing all three in one release.

Probably cheaper to do 3rd strike by itself- I'm with the people missing the old backgrounds though from the first two games.

Wow, scanlines are in. Now if they just get the system down perfectly and make sure there's no input lag, that'll be a gold standard for 2D ports in the HD era.

New Ono Interview... • Ono said that "Summer" in regards to SF3's release date means to him that he can wear short sleeves outside, but joking aside, he said summer might mean a bit longer than some people expect, so it sounds like it'll be late into the season. • Chances are Street Fighter 4 Volt (iPhone/iOS) will be out before Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition. • Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition has a scanline option for graphics, and an arcade cabinet mode, along with many other features that haven't been revealed yet. • There are all sorts of training mode challenges for Street Fighter 3 Third Strike Online Edition to help get players into the game.
