Always a good purchase, and a sign of fantastic American excess.

Always a good purchase, and a sign of fantastic American excess. This is the second biggest of first-world problems. Sad thing is that I could still use more inputs; Part of it's thanks to Sony not putting backwards compatibility in the PS4 :/. Problem is, the switch boxes that have them more inputs only have one output. With this one at least I can (presumably) more easily send more stuff to my PC for streaming purposes.

I bought the Aerosmith compilation Big Ones to piss off my wife because she hates them with a passion. Especially the song Ragdoll which I have queued up whenever she gets in the car. I don't care for the band very much, but the CD has grown on me.

Got to say that I hate Aerosmith too. Seems kind of petty to purposely torment your wife like that, though.

It's not as bad as it sounds. We do it to each other all the time. Turning up songs that one of us hates or putting on stupid movies while other isn't looking. Marmaduke is our go to one. It's always on for some reason.

[(an imitation) blood orange] Mr.Children Mr.Children were like a punch to the face for me, as they were a popular Japanese band that, like, actually writes good music/lyrics all by themselves, and aren't sold based on just how tight their pants are/how nice their hair is, or how many girls you can pack into one arena for the benefit of pedophiles.
They had an awesome run of albums, from 1999 to 2005, with a surprise return to form in 2008 with Supermarket Fantasy after the horrible HOME in 2007.
Then in 2010 came SENSE, which is literally the most boring, souless album I have ever listened to (SPOILER WARNING, second most boring/souless album now), filled with sappy ballads and melodies that are literally just climbing up and down scales backed with honest to god soap opera music in the background. Supermarket Fantasy played around with this weird ass Japanese soap opera music style, but had interesting songs and strong lyrics, so it somehow worked. SENSE and even HOME seemed to have been created solely to get as many of their songs playing during intro/end credits of abysmal Japanese soap operas and car commercials as possible.
With [(an imitation) blood orange] (that is seriously how the album is titled I swear to god), Mr.Children bravely continue their trend of writing as many shitty ballads as possible to maximize licensing revenue. I think the ridiculously pretentious album title suggests they might even feel bad about it this time.
The level of shock was equivalent to listening to Stevie Wonder's Innervisions, Fulfillingness' First Finale, and Songs in the Key of Life, rushing out to get more stuff from this guy and finding A Time to Love. You bring that home, sit down with some nice headphones and are ready... I mean, this guy back in the 70s was doing some crazy stuff in the studio, imagine what he has been up to since then. We have computers now, the Internet, EVERYTHING. Well, I will tell you what happens, you do that and you die from terminal overdose of sap and shit, because unbeknownst to me, Stevie Wonder's output since the 80s has been mediocre at best and cheesy nonsense at worst. THAT'S RIGHT- this is a true story, and it happened to me, and I never recovered.
Well, [(an imitation) blood orange] did it again cuz it sucks. I wish Mr.Children all the luck in the world peddling their jingles to advertising agencies, and I look forward to hearing their latest hit next time someone wants to brainwash me into buying some health insurance, a toyota, or a light beer.

Got some Sennheiser wireless headphones. Never really owned a good pair of headphones before now, it's like I'm hearing for the first time. Gaming and bluray watching is fresh again, I love that feeling.

Earlier today/yesterday technically, I went to Amoeba and got a bunch of CDs:
Against Me - New Wave P.O.D. - Satellite Sextrash - Sexual Carnage Sublime - Sublime
I got the Against Me CD because Transgender Dysphoria Blues got me really into the band, so I wanna check out their older material now. Satellite I got because it has Youth of the Nation, which is a really awesome song. The album as a whole I've since found is not too amazing, but at least it was on clearance so I didn't pay much for it. I've been wanting Sextrash's Sexual Carnage for like a decade, so I'm happy to finally have it. And... I'm not a huge Sublime fan, but I got their self-titled because there are three different songs on it that are from various games I like (What I Got is really fucking cool in Saints Row: The Third, Wrong Way I think is a pretty nice song in Aggressive Inline's soundtrack, and Seed was apparently in Tony Hawk's Underground, though I honestly can't remember hearing it from there).

Purchased the Hardcore Gaming101 Konami Shooter book on Amazon, and really looking forward to checking it out. Also added on a couple of blurays that were discounted, There's Something About Mary, and Cocktail.

I can't give any reason why I would like it, but I can't stop listening.

Bought a bunch of comic books with some Christmas money and gift cards. Some really good choices there. BTW, do you follow Steranko on Twitter? He has a fantastic open discussion "feed" on Sundays, he's really great with answering comments and is one of the nicest guys you could ever imagine.

Possibly the most expensive kitchenware I've bought in the past five years, my Breville Barista Express espresso machine.
