Did Duke Nukem 3D have those download cards, too?

Not that I know of; I held onto my card for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for a couple years after getting it, and when I tested it out (by choosing not to download right after putting the code in) it still worked. Why did you buy it but not use it? It came with my Resident Evil 5-edition 360, but I don't like fighting games. I gave it to a friend who I know does. Did Duke Nukem 3D have those download cards, too? Not sure; that's a good question.

Games I know that had Codes to get
Call of Duty Classic (one of the COD collector editions) Banjo Kazooie (Preorder code for Nuts and Bolts) Dead Space Ignition (Preorder for Dead Space 2)
These Might be US only but have existed on codes. Most of these was with Gold Sub cards and are You will need a account from the region they was sold in to activate them. Marble Blast Ultra (Only way to get the game any More) Worms Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (Only way to get the game any More) Joust (Only way to get the game any More) Astro Pop and Feeding Frenzy (Came with a xbox Arcade Joystick) Robotron 2084 (Only way to get the game any More and might be wrong about this existing) Limbo (UK only I think and was only sold in a few GAME stores across the country) Trials HD (UK only I think and was only sold in a few GAME stores across the country) Castle Cashers (UK only I think and was only sold in a few GAME stores across the country)

Okay, that's cool to know. I'm found some of the World At War Zombie Map DLC cards that I hadn't bothered to look for. I figured, that these cards expired, so hadn't bothered looking for them.

It wasn't anything special; it was just a bright red 360, that had a copy of Resident Evil 5 bundled in along with a code card for an exclusive RE5 theme, and Street Fighter II HD.

Steam sale has the complete Doom collection for 8 bucks today. Better price for better version of the game (and all its sequels and their expansions).

... to pick up where earlier posts left off; why not play a superior source port on the PC, say JDoom? I use a launch script which will take a random level of a random wad (of a choice of a few hundred), everytime I start the game I get to play a level I probably did not see before. And like any FPS ever, the controls are superior when using a mouse (sometimes I try to play it console style on a big tv with a dual analog joypad, but I never get anywhere far with this. And the availability of these source ports make it really hard to go back to the original engine incarnation in it's really low res 20fps glory.
Also, the PC version of Doom will be yours to play forever. Doom on XBLA only will last as long as your XBox360 will.

Or ZDoom, which has probably the largest possible variety of gameplay mods, maps, megawads, and total conversions (as it also supports vanilla and Boom projects)? I could point you towards some excellent stuff that you'd be missing had you stuck with a console version (and I guarantee only 5-10% of it is stuff I made =P).

Doom 3 hasn't held up as well as the originals but it's not a bad game.
All you really need is the .wad files from your steam directory. Sourceports can handle the rest. The doom.wad, doom2.wad, tnt.wad, and plutonia.wad. These are the IWAD files. They contain all the data for the actual game such as sprites, levels, etc. PWADs (also .wad) are patch wads that patch over the game for mods, total conversions, etc. There are some great total conversions such as Megaman 8-bit Deathmatch, Batman Doom, Ghostbusters, etc.
I use Chocolate Doom for singleplayer and SkullTag/ZDaemon/Odamex for multiplayer. Some mods use features that are not found in the original engine, which Chocolate Doom recreates so you will need to use another source port for those.
The only real problem with chocolate doom is that you have to fool with the mouse settings but it's still better than the horrible Doom95/Windoom or whatever default port which doesn't work with mice on modern windows anyway (the original DOS executables do). Here are some tips for setting that and for mice usage in FPS games (all games really but especially FPS) in general:
- turn vertical movement off. Doom doesn't need it and it will actually cause you to walk forward in the doom engine if you have it on. the setting might be called disable vertical movement or vertical mouse or whatever.
- turn in game acceleration to 1.0 in chocolate doom setup to turn it off
- I don't know what exactly the acceleration threshhold setting in chocolate doom is but it shouldn't matter as it won't accelerate it at all if it acceleration is set to x1
- you might need the MarkC mousefix to turn it off in windows. the default 6/11 in XP doesn't have acceleration but might in vista or win7. be sure to uncheck enhanced pointer precision.
- If you're on a mac, kill yourself or install windows with bootcamp as otherwise you can't turn off acceleration.
- Your mouse might have internal acceleration though especially if it isn't a gaming mouse (Price does not equal quality for this. Do your homework at overclock) The classic cheap microsoft mice favored by gamers (The Wheel Mouse Optical and Intellimouse 1.1, and Intellimouse 3.0) are still good and have excellent sensors. The only problem with the mice are a rather low perfect control speed, scroll wheels that wonk out after a while, plastic instead of teflon feet, and some build quality issues on new intellimouse 3.0s (They stopped making them for a few years but restarted when they found there was still demand). The 1.1 and WMO are as well made as ever. Modern mice with good sensors (No acceleration or angle prediction) are Cooler Master Spawn, Zowie Mico, Razor DeathAdder (issues with lift off distance and too thin teflon feet), Razor Abyssus (thin feet feet, jittering and unupdatable firmware). Listing these as you might want something with higher CPI (The good microsoft mice operate only at 400 DPI) for browsing or playing non fps games. Many other mice, even the lauded Logitech MX518 (and it's reincarnation the g400, have issues. Logitech has built no gaming with a good sensor so far. The best, the MX510/MX518/g400, have angle prediction which obviously doesn't matter for doom but matters for everything else. Newer Microsoft mice are crap.
- Set the in game sensitivity (I had to play with it a bit) just right so that in whatever resolution/window or whateever your are playing in that it is slow enough to be accurate but so that you can still turn around with a giant swoosh across the mousepad and I mean like a footlong swoosh. I play all FPS games on low CPI and have it set so that a flick of the mouse all the way across my giant mousepad will turn me 180 degrees. No one has any need for anything more than say 1800 or so CPI in a mouse anyway unless you have some giant 5000x5000 monitor and play on high sensitivity which I highly doubt is good for an FPS. I have no idea how high sens players hit anything in any FPS.

I tried ChocDoom and played with ZDoom for a while when all I had to play on was an old IBM ThinkPad laptop, but given the choice I would use jDoom/Doomsday, if only for OpenGL support, 60fps, mouselook, redone textures, hi-res texture overlays, and other additional effects. It's not just eyecandy; the game plays a lot better this way. I don't need or want any additional engine features (such as room above room and other hacks), Doom doesn't need them. Nor does it need 3D models (jDoom supports those too), it's too far removed from the original for me - just as well might play a more modern FPS then.

GZDoom supports OpenGL, mouselook, and uncapped framerate as well. I'm not entirely sure how high-res textures improve the actual gameplay itself, but I won't argue on that point. All I know is, JDoom doesn't run Style Mod. =P

Can anyone link me to a nice sexed up Doom for the PC but with the awesome soundtrack from the 3DO soundtrack? I don't ask for much huh?
