This only makes slightly more sense than MS -> Rare.

PopCap's games will probably be taken off of Steam as a result of this. I also can't see Bejeweled remaining in WOW anymore. I really hope it doesn't come to that, but given EA's recent push of Origin, I'm not holding out hope.

Correct me but, wasn't Crysis 2 the only EA game pulled off Steam (only from the storefront, since who bought it there can still access it normally) and for reasons not related to the launch of Origin?

I just looked it up, and I guess it wasn't taken off specifically because of Origin. I wonder if PopCap's games will stay on Steam then?

Sad. PopCap struck me as plucky and clever. Now it is only a matter of time before they are completely subsumed and EA closes the studio.
(Also, $750 million? Wow.)
By the way, wasn't Plants vs Zombies in WOW as well?

So, hey guys, a friend of mine who works at EA tells me that in Mass Effect 3, since they're trying to streamline it further from 2, every battle is going to be a big grid where Shepard has to match 3 gun icons in a row.

I also can't see Bejeweled remaining in WOW anymore. Sadly, the Bejeweled add on for WoW hasn't been updated and doesn't fully work these days. You can still play the game, but stuff like flight timers and guild high score sharing haven't worked since the new xpac hit (From comments i've read, apparently the add on is encrypted so other add on authors can't easily fan update it) That said, I think it'd be pretty pointless to try and track down and remove the add on from the PC of every single player who has it. It might disappear from the big Add on sites and Popcaps' own sight tho. The WoW version of Peggle seems to work just fine, however. On the point of Plants versus Zombies, there's no add on or version of the game directly for WoW. There is an in game quest that plays very similar to P vs Z (I believe Blizz had some help from popcap when designing it) and when you finish the quest, it rewards you with a companion pet sunflower, which is basically the same one from P vs Z. It sings a song every now and then which I'm told is apparently voiced by the same lady that voices the sun flower in P vs Z itself. I haven't actually bothered with this quest myself (it doesn't give an achievement. I prolly should soon however based on this, just in case...)

The WoW version of Peggle seems to work just fine, however. Well, that's a completely separate application, comparable to the Orange Box version of Peggle ("Peggle Extreme").

Correct. Peggle and Bejeweled are official add-ons to wow, IE: separate games designed to plug into and run in wow but not actually wow itself. (Albeit, add ons that are no longer supported and updated )

Fingers crossed they don't rape Popcap. They've been fine with Bioware and DICE so far...
