Yeah, I'd like to know if I need to shell out $15 for R Type Dimensions. You should buy it anyway >:0 Anyway, I already have all the DLC Irem stuff I want, except maybe R-Types, which might be nice to have in digital form (I already have it for PS1). This is really depressing, though. Oh, also, does anyone have detailed plot analysis of Tactics 1 and 2? I tend to hate grid-based SRPGs and the second game was never even released in English, and the Wiki articles are somewhat lacking, I'd really like to read up on them.

Delta does indeed own. Great music, great graphics, great gameplay, and I hear there's even a great story in there somewhere.

So, once this stuff is deleted, are you no longer going to be able to re-download stuff that you've already bought?

I"m pretty sure that PSN keeps a download history you can re-download anything from for as long as the service stays up. I know Xbox does, and I can't see why PSN wouldn't.

Yep, the PSN does have a download history. It even shows what you downloaded from each system (that means you can see PS3 stuff on the PSP and viceversa. It says that you have to download it from it's respective system)
Also, sucks to see Irem going down like this. They're turning into Sammy now: only releasing freakin' pachinko games.

Actually if they were turning into Sammy, wouldn't that mean they'd had a hostile takeover of Konami?

If you end up thinking R-Type sucks, you owe yourself a trip to a suicide booth.

The first is very manageable and a seriously excellent game. The second is... well, it's just kinda cruel. R-Type II is probably my least favorite of the series. Don't get me wrong, it's still a good game, it's just the difficulty is incredibly unfair and outright contemptuous of the player, and it's just not designed nearly as well as the games before and after it in the series.

I'm not exactly the biggest shmup fan, but I really like the R-Type games. As well as In the thingy (erm, Hunt rather). Really sad to see this happen to Irem. EDIT: So it seems there's a filter for the word that starts with a C and rhymes with "hunt." How oddly random.

In the Hunt was technically Irem, but the employees shortly after left and formed Nazca, who made Metal Slug (and were acquired by SNK).

I was hoping that the arcade collection on PC (that has the Gunforce games!) would get ported to consoles some day, but I don't think that'll happen now. I should get it before it disappears.
