Someone commented that they just announced a new Pachipara pachinko game for the 3ds??

Maybe they're just deleting they're worthwhile content to pursue a life of churning out utter bullshit like Pachipara? I can't work out if they're going bankrupt, or are just trying to distance themselves from their past.
Kazuma Kujo did make cryptic comments about trying to bring Zettai Zetsumei Toshi back (I can't recall the source, might be his twitter), so it's possible that Irem is selling off the rights to its entire game back catalogue, hence why they have to be removed, but will continue as a company making Pachipara games...?
Pure speculation on my part. But I'd love it if Kujo's company bought the universal rights to R-type, ZZT and Bumpy Trot.

Wasn't ZZT 3 also available from the Japanese PSN? Has that been taken down as well?

What's Pachipara? Also, this news sucks. Are any of those games exclusives on PSN? I don't think all of the R-Type games are exclusive at least, but if there are some exclusive games on there I'll look into them. I don't want to miss my chance to ever play them.
While deleting the games sucks though, I do appreciate that they're giving a heads up, at the very least. I also appreciate Ubisoft letting people know beforehand about their Turtles game license expiring, so I could pick up their XBLA games.
EDIT: I just looked at the list again and realized most of the games are for the PSP, which I don't have. But I don't know what Game Archives is. Is that some sort of online PC store? I don't want to miss my chance at getting Irem Arcade Classics.

Game archives is the name for PS1 games on PSN. If you don't have a PS3 to download PSN games, you can still buy the original PS1 CDs. And the PSP games are all available on UMD (I think). So technically we aren't losing our only access to them, but it doesn't bode well. ZZT prices shot up after Irem announced it was stopping production for the games. They came back down afterwards, but still... Something is going down at Irem. A cross between pachinko and slot machines. Less interesting than pure pachinko a friend tells me, which had some degree of skill as you could control the metal ball bearings - modern pachipara machines are just luck, like one-armed bandits. Apparently! Never played any of them.

Thanks for answering my questions I really wish we knew more info about what exactly was happening with Irem. I think it was stupid of them to flat-out cancel Disaster Report 4. I could understand a delay, or maybe only releasing it overseas, but a complete cancellation is asinine.

Especially, since the game was basically done. I'm still hoping that they change their minds and just release it later on. Even if it never gets localized in the US, at least I'd be able to import it.

It pains me to see a company which competed with the absolute best in the 80's and 90's now barely survives making fucking Pachinko games.
Simplified Pachinko.

I'm gonna miss them. They made some great, fun games from my childhood.

Kazuma Kujo has been tweeting that people please not ask them about Irem and the copyright situation regarding Irem's older games...
My Japanese isn't as good as it should be, so take with a pinch of salt.

Does this means R Type on 360 is going to be delisted as well or is that a special case because MIcrosoft owned it like Mortal Kombat 2 on PSN?
These games might be Removed from the UK PSn store because of this too R Type Tatitics £7.99 Gensan £7.99 This is the European version of Hammering Hero. It is ment to be the same as the US version but this version has just the Japanese voices only.
Both of these was sold on UMD in Europe as well.

Yeah, I'd like to know if I need to shell out $15 for R Type Dimensions.
