Looking forward to this. They're just as funny as they were back in the days.

I finished watching all of the Desperate Housewives I could. The ending was bittersweet because of certain couple parting ways. I kept telling myself, if they do this I'll never forgive them for it. Luckily, I started watching some more of the Melissa & Joey sitcom. I'd started it on Hulu, but not all the show was up, and Netflix seems to have fixed that. I used to have the biggest crush on Melissa Joan Hart as a kid, so it's fun to watch her still as sarcastic as ever. Big Man Japan left me wanting to watch some MMPR so, alongside my sisters, we watched through the whole Green with Envy arc. Jason was the shiznit in this, I was so lucky to have met him person. Also, Tommy was downright evil in some of scenes. I'll always love the Dragonzord, it's like Mechagodzilla but with a more badass color scheme. Also, Goldar was awesome one of my favorite monster designs. After we finished that we watched the first two episodes of Big Bad Beetleborgs. It was okay, but didn't really hold a candle to MMPR. I would've liked to have shown my sisters some Ultraman, Kamen Rider, or Mystic Knights of Tir Na Nog, but sadly none that is one Netflix. Also, it's a bad time to be off cable seeing as I'm missing the new season of The Walking Dead and the new American Horror Story.

The funny thing I've noticed about Tommy when I was a kid (before I knew about Super Sentai) is that after he joins the team, he really doesn't contribute much other than to summon Dragonzord whenever it's needed. He always showed up late due to some contrived coincidence and it was only after they started recording new footage for Power Rangers (rather than relying solely on Zyuranger stock) that the Green Ranger took a more active role in battle.
It's the same thing with VR Troopers, where they always find a reason to split the heroes (since it was actually footage from two different Metal Hero shows, Metalder and Spielban).

As a kid, all I pretty much remember was that Tommy stole the show as soon as he started on the show. And that Jason was pretty much relegated to second fiddle.

I'm only talking about the first half of Season 1 of course, when it was still a watered-down version of Zyuranger. JDF really started stealing the show during the latter half of Season 1, what with him getting the most focus as a result of regaining the Green Ranger powers, then losing them for good and then gaining the White Ranger powers for the remainder of Mighty Morphin. Austin St. John also choose a bad time to play hardball with his contract, since all the attention was being given to Tommy at the time and nobody really cared about Jason that much.

Ah so it wasn't just my imagination. I haven't really seen anything of the show since my childhood. Once, the show's 3rd season ended and the aliens or zeo series started I stopped watching. Though I did come back for Power Rangers in Space which I remember being slightly better than the past series that weren't MMPR. Also, if I recall the ending was pretty spectacular since it tied up all the other series as well.

Zeo was where I stopped watching, too. It didn't help that I missed the episodes that served as the end of Mighty Morphin', so I was pretty much lost. Then came Turbo, which felt really weird since every Sentai they adapted during that run had animal-themed mecha, so changing to cars just seemed weird. I had already written off the series by Space.
Admittedly, that was always a problem I had with Power Rangers that isn't as big an issue with Sentai each being their own continuity. I just couldn't wrap my head around how each season was supposed to be an "upgrade" over the last when nothing after really seemed to compare to the Ultrazord.

For me it was just something missing. I loved the original with all their dinosaur mechas as any kid would and than they went fantasy and that was still pretty cool. And they topped it off with ninjas which was just awesome. Plus, the movie with high production values really sold it. But than after that they went to these ugly mecha zords and than afterwards cars which I had no interest in. I think the only reason in Space brought me back in was because by that time I had matured a bit and the slightly darker storyline drew me in. Plus, I'm pretty sure Digimon and Godzilla the series had just ended so I had time to go back to it. Which brings me back to something I meant to ask yesterday. I heard Billy say prodigious yesterday and was like huh are they using the same script writer from Digimon? And afterwards I saw on Beetleborgs that the VA for Demidevimon was voicing someone on that show plus another Digimon VA I can't recall. Was wondering if their was a connection. Though looking up prodigious it seems to be a real word after all.

I've been watching a K-drama called "Couple Fantasy" on Hulu. It's a remake of the 1980's comedy "Overboard." But in the corria. It's pretty cheesy but I like it.

Sm6ZFftV2Nk Looking forward to this. They're just as funny as they were back in the days. Replacing the musicvideos with scenes from reality shows has been the best thing they've done.

I'm smack in the middle of The X-Files (season 4) and I love this fucking show. I watched random episodes off and on for years but never really sat down and ran through it from start to end. It's probably going to be my favorite drama/mystery TV show once I finish it, so that's quite impressive.
Other than that, I've been keeping up with Dexter (I could rant for awhile about how they've managed to fuck up that show this season), watching some of the new Beavis and Butthead, and sometimes continuing Star Trek:TNG (I'm more likely to choose X-Files over that though).
Also, do people here watch Community on NBC? It's in its third season right now (it got put on some kind of secret hiatus after Christmas because of ratings) and it's hands-down one of the most refreshing comedies I've ever seen - the kind that justifies the existence of sitcoms and the basic-network-television machine. Ranks right up there with Louie for favorite currently-airing comedies (although the two shows have drastically different styles).
