I don't think any series would stand a chance against FF, if just for the sheer number of titles.

And having a statistics fetish, I'd love to see a whole slew of metrics like totals for composers, companies, generation (8-bit, 16-bit, etc.), but that would all start getting a bit too complicated.

Any with just a single vote...yeah. Like, to pick up all of the leftovers, and say "Everyone, vote for, say, five each, and these will make the second tier of picks". Something like that. That way it should bolster the list a bit more.

With Excel, not so much. Tracking down composer data on the stuff I don't know offhand would be the only real time consuming part.

Something like...300x250? Doesn't have to be exact, but roughly that dimension. PNG or really low compression JPG would be great!

Maybe have people vote for one song per game after we've all made our choices? Or something like that. It might be better to have a greater variety of games represented with one song each than emphasizing particular tracks and potentially fewer games. It would reduce the chance of less prolific games being overshadowed and people could just check out the rest of a game's soundtrack on their own.

But this is only if certain games being listed too many times becomes a problem. And it also depends on how long the final list will be.

edit: Of course right after I post this idea it seems crappy since the focus of this project is the individual tracks. Soooo never mind.

Agreed. Once everything's compiled I'd like to get at least a few sentences from someone who voted for the track. Probably only do that for the top 50 or so though.

I might just be missing something (darn lack of sleep), but could someone clarify for me real quick... now, only the "Top 5" songs you have in your post count towards the votes, and the songs in "The Rest" don't count towards voting, correct?

Every song you list counts, but if you choose a Top 5, they count 3 points each instead of only one.
